Hey Guys

Just did an under plenum job two months ago. Replaced all injectors and rubber. Now the no. 7 injector isn't ohming at all....and I'm real pissed. I still got the scars left from two months ago. These were infiniti replacement parts. Anyone here know if the 12 month warranty is any good for injectors?

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

with the e85 issue, I doubt it.

Yes, 12 month warranty on genuine Nissan parts, if purchased from authorized Nissan/Infiniti dealer

E85? Why would anyone run that in a gasoline fueled car????? Hopefully he meant E10 {gas with 10% ethanol added} injector warranty is still valid when used with E10 fuel.

Did you purchase injectors brand new from an authorised nissan/infiniti dealer?????

It should be covered by the Infiniti warranty. You should be able to access that one without pulling the plenum.

I feel more justified in my strategy on injectors now - but I hate to hear this in case the aftermarket alternative doesn't pan out.

We've replace 2 more sets [8 x 2] Q injectors this week, one 92 and one 95............just at S. Cobb.

Looks like we may have to increase the early Q annual estimated cost to maintain to standard [at dealers] from $3,000 to $5,000 per year.

Sounds like alot more of these old Q will end up in the crusher due to the combination of high fuel prices and now rediculous injector failures and their associated costs. Not sure more than a few will be willing to put 5K/yr into what are now really old, fuel inefficient vehicles- too many newer, more fuel efficient choices with way better acceleration and modern ammenities with lower running costs.

Separates the rich old men from the boys. Those same two clients each dropped over $4,000 for injectors and other work.

But I'm sure thay will be unhappy if the new Nissan injectors don't last 12 months.

But then we know for sure it was the E10 and not just old age.

I would think they'd be unhappy with less than a few years - not that Nissan cares about us old timers... Maybe they'll care if they have to start eating a lot of replacement injectors under the 12/12 warranty.

Either that or they'll just discontinue them and and force everyone into the aftermarket.

Exactly....I dont mind paying to replace injectors ONCE, but to think they might become a ongoing periodic replacment item is where many will get off the carousel, and try another ride that doesnt break down so often....the first requirement of a "luxury" car is that it serve its owner and not become an unreliable waste of ones time and resources

A newer Lexus LS would be a better place for a rich old man to dump his funds if Infiniti cant produce reliable injectors for todays fuel.

I have actually considered ways to store and preserve the Q in the hopes that this ethanol craze will pass at some point.

Thanks guys...it's good to see someone else feels my pain. Oh yeah...I see you can weasle the IAC off and get a better shot at the no. 7 without taking the monster off. It's tight though! I saw some "New" $89.00 aftermarket "purple" injectors for sale on ebay...and I'm going to order one. Got the last infiniti batch from Joe..but I'll take the no. 7 back to a local dealer with Joe's reciept and hope they'll give me a new one I can use as a spare. Car still looks great...but the last fill up did cost me 75 Bucks! Thanks again...

Still no ethanol in Austin, but the EPA rejected the Governor's request to not comply with national mandate to subsidize midwest farmers and starve 3rd world citizens.

I suspect you'll get some push-back from a local dealer returning Joe's parts... hard to say though.

As far as the ebay injector, is that the seller five-o motorsports? If so, these are supposedly OEM injectors that he bought in bulk - so probably the same kind of issues. I actually checked with him about his 3 year warranty, and he stated that it wasn't valid for injectors used with e10 fuels.

Pretty sure they are bulk OEM injectors like FiveOmotorsports sells. I have no idea where these are coming from.... hopefully not OEM rejects.

I think if I had just paid for new OEM injectors with a warranty, I would see if Joe could sell me a new one and then refund it after I returned the bad one under the warranty claim.
