Infiniti announced the introduction of a free Roadside Assistance app for the iPhone. Created in collaboration with Cross Country Automotive Services (Cross Country), the Infiniti Roadside Assistance app provides owners expanded access to summon help for roadside support.

The Infiniti Roadside Assistance app, which can be downloaded at http://www.itunes.com/appstore/, connects Infiniti owners to a roadside assistance agent who will immediately dispatch assistance to the vehicle’s location. The app provides Infiniti owners with an estimated time of arrival for the dispatched service, contact information for the service provider, and a reference number for the event. Additionally, the app provides Infiniti owners with a priority emergency button for urgent situations. The app’s services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are part of Infiniti’s commitment to offer luxury vehicles that inspire at every turn.

I wonder if this is an industry first.

Infinit has always had amazing servicem

As a salesman I frequently pull over to use my laptop or blackberry. Once while stopped the Infiniti service desk guy stopped to check on me. My service advisor Juan has brought a loaner out to me before and picked up a loaner from me bringing me my car before. The service especially at Infiniti of Scottsdale is amazing!

Maybe auto-industry first, but AAA has had a free app for a while.

Smart marketing move by Infiniti. On-Star without the subscription fee, it sounds like. With the G37 and CTS priced so closely together, that's a nice advantage Infiniti now has. Now we'll see if GM follows suit.

I love my EVO, but I can't say that I wouldn't consider an iPhone, if they ever brought it over to Sprint. Android is awesome, but the longer i've had it, the less i've cared about it being more open than an iPhone.

The iPad is quite awesome, I wouldn't have considered one before they came down in price though. I've been researching tablets for months and couldn't find one that I liked near as much as the iPad.

I'm not a fan either, but I'm buying Becky an iPad, and I may switch to the iPhone after I get tired of my HTC Incredible.

OK, back on topic - This is WAY cool, considering people don't like to pay for the OnStar subscription.
