Finally decided to trade in the 1998 Lexus I bought new 11 years ago. Looked at and test drove a 2009 G37xS and drove home with a new vehicle this weekend. The performance reminds me a bit of the Buick Grand National I bought new in 1987. However the G37 brings gobs of technology, superior handling, excellent seats, good looks, and so on and so on.

Opted for the graphite grey clor and the two-tone interior. Really a fun car to drive.

Sports package, AWD, premium package, Navigation Package, Technology package. Looking for this one to last 11-years as did the Lexus.

Congrats. I think you will be pleased with how long the car will last you. Of course that will depend partially to how you take care of your car. I've got 143K miles on mine and have had very little in the the problem department.

Enjoy....and post up some pics for us.

You will love it and cops will love you...

Be careful as it will get away from you!

And don't fight the mod bug... because it will bite soon enough

Tampa - funny you should mention the mods.

The stock Buick GN I bought had a 3.8L V6 Turbo 245 bhp @ 4400 rpm, 355 ft-lb @ 2000 rpm with 16 psi boost. Generally it was accepted that Buick under rated that engine.

I bought a 160 degree thermo to replace the 180 and a Kenne-Belle Chip was added for about $150 bucks. Good for an 80 or 90 hp pick up. I have been looking at mod options but just enjoying the car at this time.

G_Whizz - yes on the gun collecting but not since 2001. (8) M1's that I ordered through the CMP from 1995 to about 2001. I also have a nice 98% original National Postal meter M1 Carbine. Been a long time since I hit the range.

Nice .... But I can't wait for the Govt to not allow Americans to have guns. I think it would be in the best interest of our country to not have guns. I am one that thinks barring arms is the most worthless part of our rights...

NOT

They are going to have to take me dead if The GOVT ever thinks they are going to take my Guns away from me!

I traded in my 95 lexus SC400 for a G37X. Hey let me know if your car does an annoying downshift around 1500RPM. I have an auto trans. assume you do as well.

Trying to get a handle on this new technology.

What did you get for your lexus on trade in if you don't mind me asking.

Enjoy the new wheels:)

Trade in was $3000 for the 1998 Lexus. However, I was planning on a taking it in for a bit of work. Brakes were going, ride was getting very mushy, car was pulling to the right. Ran perfectly fine but I would rate it as only good with the paint chips, door dings, etc.

Still have to find some time after work or this weekend to take a photo or two. I will try and pay more attention on the down shifts. Car only has 240 miles on it so I figured it is still breaking in.

All wheel drive will allow you to use more power coming out of corners.

One of the limitations of my 2008 G37S is that the VDC cuts power in such situations if I get very far into the throttle. Of course, that's better than spinning the car.

Depending on the course your s may allow you to go deeper into the corners.
