I've been doing a little reading throughout the forum and I see that it might be possible to do a break swap with the 300zx tt aluminum brakes. It looks like it might cost around $500-600 for the entire kit. Has anyone done this? Are these brakes that much of an improvement over the stock calipers and rotors? I think putting brembo brakes is a little overkill plus I can't afford them but will this get me going (or stopping in this case) in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

That price was just for the fronts. I'd eventually do the rears also. And last question... If anyone has done this do they fit behind the 17" 8 spoke sport wheels? Or will I have to do some light milling?

No one has upgraded their stock brakes? I find that hard to believe. This car has the get up and go but it takes forever to stop 3300 lbs.

I did a set of QUALITY ceramic pads and new rotors on the "pad transfer-prone" (00/01 A33) Maxima we own. Totally changed the way it brakes and would suggest that before you dump mega-bux in a BB kit. HOwever, if you are interested in options, I have read Matt does good work but have no personal experience with his prods.

I second that opinion. I would try some powerslots rotors and Hawk HPS pads first.

They will put you back around $600 all the way around and you'll definately feel an improvement over the factory brakes.

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely look into ceramic pads and the slotted rotors. However I'm still interested to hear from others that have completed the 300zx tt brake swap and if they're satisfied with it or not.
