the secondary coil on our ignition has been discussed before.... but now i have a new idea

is there some way of setting it up to fire at the same time as the primary? this could be epic if so!

unfortunately no. the primary coil is to improve the flame front (igniting the mixture earlier than normal) so when the secondary fires, all the gas mixture is burnt improving milage and reducing the emissions.

I think the way coils are wired up is that when the ignition is on, the coils are supplied wth 12v and the distributer supplies the ground telling the coils when to fire . Cant you just remove the signal wire from the secondary coil and run a jumper wire from the primary coil ? I think it would work .

hmmm... i'm reluctant to try it without someone who knows for sure though... i don't want to crank it and have something go 'boom'

I'm also interested... Mine spins 1, spins 2, gets a little squirly in 3rd if you hit it quick enough, and barks 4th... I wont risk s*** on my engine lol... Anyone willing? If something went wrong, I'd be shooting myself on mine. It pulls harder than any KA24E 240 I've ever had BY FAR. No way BOOM is happening to me lol

Yes it would work. But with a loss of power, not much mind you but you would also lose the emission control. I think the engine would be lazy and not make high rpms.

IDK excactly what it would do, I dought if it would blow anthing up as long as you listened carefully for any pinging (just like you always should).

Instead of one flame front, you would have two of them running into each other. I hypothesize that this would afford less timing advance than a single plug, but IDK for sure without actually trying it myself.

You could just try it and see. You could also try indexing the plugs.

right now i'm running pulstar pulse plugs and they burn up the fuel pretty well... basically so well that if i were running a basic plug i'd be running rich... but with these its not

Combustion would be incomplete. Remember I said there wouldn't be much power loss. But for what you do it might be noticeable.

Checked the firing and saw that the rotor is what causes the staggered firing of the plugs. As the rotor is 180 degrees, maybe changing the cap would have opposite poles firing at the same time. If you could source a cap that could fit it might work.
