Has anyone tried AEM High Output Inductive smart or dumb coil there RBs? It's very less expensive than Splitfires and produce as much as LS1. What's your take about this? Keep in mind that it's about $55-60 per coil and RBs uses 6 coils. I would like to hear from everyone else's opinion. It's an interesting topic.

I am running their smart coils and no inigior box (custom made harness). So far so good. Should be around 700whp when i'm done, nothing crazy. If you want to run a twin fire box, make sure you use the dumb coils and not the smart ones.

My friend has 6 of the "dumb coils" on his RB25DE (non turbo) engine.

ALL STOCK RB20DET's CANNOT, i repeat, CANNOT catch up to him. and the rb20det suposed to have more power than the rb25de.

Trust me when i say its MASSIVE difference! MASSIVE!

Change the wires one time use MSD thicker wires.

I also have a single cam rb20e and i will be trying out a single dumb coil. will update on that when it happens. lets see how this goes!

These have approximately the same specs as the LS coils do except they do not have built-in ignitors, which is no biggy. If your ignitor is in good working condition, then I think these are a good option to replace old worn out coils with new equipment.

I like that idea. Saves some money for most rb owners that are looking for ignition upgrade.
