i want to change my rims but i dont want to spend a bunch of money right now and i want to just change the overall appearance and make it my own. so i was thinking of doing something like this....

I saw a neon srt-4 a few days ago with something similar done to it's stock wheels, and it looked pretty cheesy. If you want to stick with the stock tires, you can find 16" rims pretty cheap. Check out http://www.tirerack.com or your local auto parts store, and you might find something you like for around $100 a pop.

Yeah, that looks kinda cheeseball... I think the bulk of the problem lies in the fact that the stockers have a brushed finish. If you could somehow get the lip to be polished, then the black spokes would look okay, but on the whole it would be easier to just get a new set of rims. 16" isn't usually too hard on the wallet. In fact, you could go grab a relatively cheap set of Konig Heliums and seriously reduce the rotational mass! Hooray for physics...

i think you should do it. that will definately make your car yours. it looks pretty decent for stocks wheels as well!
