Just got an '03 I35 the other day. It feels real good to be back in a Nissan product Traded my '03 Mach 1 mustang for it, got a great deal, payments and insurance are greatly reduced.

Havn't had time to take any pics yet. It's black, black interior, has the 17" wheels, sunroof, and factory spoiler. How do you tell if the car has the sport package or not?? I'm really liking this car, very sporty and responsive. My only complaints are that the engine is a little too quiet and the body rolls too much. I think those 2 things can be fixed though

Sounds like a great ride, and yes those little areas of concern can be remedied quite easily. The only thing I found on the differences with the Sport model are the following: The optional Sport package adds side sill spoilers, Vehicle Dynamic Control, a sport-tuned suspension and 17-inch sport alloy wheels with P225/50VR17 performance tires.

Well, I guess I don't have that package then I've been looking around and I can't seem to find a place that sells much for these cars. Should I just be looking for Maxima parts instead? I'm assuming everything for a Max will fit this car too.

You got it. Any performance products that fit the 03 Max should fit your I35. The only difference is the body and interior.

Sweet. It's kinda wierd b/c some places have exhaust listed for an '03 max, but, when you search for exhaust for the I35, nothing shows up. I'll probably go with the cattman exhaust. Anyone here have it?? Curious as to how it sounds. As for suspension, I'll probably go with eibach springs and tokico struts. Should still ride good I would think, maybe a little stiffer and with alot less body roll......which is exactly what I am looking for.

Great choice with the Eibach and Illumina combo. Personally I like the Magnaflow exhaust, deep like a V8, no "bees in a can" or "ricey" sound.

Basically it's a Magnaflow muffler with a custom b-pipe if I'm not mistaken. Mike (nismonkey) has the Greddy Evo exhaust on his 5th gen, and I love it, but I can certainly understand someone wanting to save a few bucks.

I'm just trying to get as much info as I can. I've looked around for the eibach springs and the ones I have found say '04-'06. The part # is 6369.140 Does that look right?

The Maxima changed to the new body style in 04, so that is not what you want. Only look for products in the 02-03 model years.

I can personally tell you that I have Tokico Illuminas with Tein H-tech springs, and I love the ride. I have seen a 5th gen with Tein S-techs, and it was slammed. It looked really good, but I have no knowledge on how the (long-term) ride was ( this person gave his Max to his younger brother).

Magnaflow muffler and custom built piping. Eibachs and Illuminas are great, when in town I ride really stiff, When I know I'll be on I-5 I set it soft to absorb more shock of the f**king horrible Wa. state roads. Whatever springs you use BUY THE ILLUMINAS, so many people rave about the Koni's but I've got a friend with them and they suck, you have to get under the car to adjust the rears. Ride quality is not as good either. I've got the full Tokico application guide at home, tell me year and I'll get you part #'s. Oh I just figured that out. 03 I-35.

Tokico Illumina for Infiniti I35 or Maxima year 00-03: front left, BB3188 one each, front right, BB3189 one each and rears BU2943, two each. These are the same as the ones I put on my Max.

Thanks for your help beancooker. I had H&R springs and Tokico blues on my 240 and it rode GREAT! I love Tokicos, they are just right! You wouldn't happen to know the part # for the Eibach springs would you? :D

Part # :6369.140 or part # : 6350.140 Best price I can find:http://performance.drivewire.c...nsionNobody lists it fo an 03 Infiniti I35. however Eibach lists an Infiniti I35 and it has a different part # than the Maxima which I think is Bulls**t. I'll call Eibach and figure this s**t out Eibach:http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/html...2442?Okay, cross referencing the part # and it comes up with this:http://search.drivewire.com/se...ter=pSo personally, I would go with the 03 maxima kit for your I35. I have a feeling that the springs for an 05 maxima would not fit because body and frame styles changed. You do have an A33 chasis???

Illumina's > Blues. If you have a chance, take a ride in other similar vehicles with different spring combinations. On mine with Eibach/Illumina's (setting of 2 front and rear), the suspension is stiff and jarring (and less controlled than with the higher settings). This is more an issue with the Eibachs than the Illumina's. Of course, 18's with 235/40's don't make things comfy....

If you don't have a RSB, I suggest you get one.

Try setting your Ill's to 4 in front and 5 in rear. I like it really stiff, but I also run a 235/40/17 so I'm better off than the 18's.

Well, I used to have a '96 240SX that had H&R springs and Tokico blues.......never had a problem and the car rode/handled GREAT! A very nice factory-like ride without the body roll and less bounce is what I want. I have read about a guy that had H&R springs with the stock struts and loved them. I'll just have to do some more research. I also read that aftermarket springs/struts+rear sway bar=unpredictable handling.

I initially had them 4/4 for a while. I changed them down to 2/2 after I bent rims. Handled great, but was jarring...

Cory, I have Eibach + Illumina + RSB + FSTB and it seems pretty predictible enough. Other than stiff, the only issue I have is with it "following the road", but that is probably more of a tire characteristic than anything as I didn't have the issue when I ran Sumitomo's.

Yeah, that sounds like a tire charactoristic, I've had that problem before with Nittos. Well, that makes me feel better to hear that the sway bar is a good thing, which one do you have?? I'm probably going to try the H&R springs with stock struts, get a FSTB and a RSB. I think that combo will give me what I want
