Just bought a 2000 i30t with 70km's on it..i have noticed a few items on it that i would like to fix and wondering it anyone else has the same problems.real squeaky drivers window..front end creaking sound when you hammer the gas and turning left from a stand still..shifting seems to jump around more that you would think...spot of surface rust on the pasenger door near window trim(size of a nickel).love the car,but just want to get to know it better now.thanks for any input!p.s. anything i should be looking to maintain or watch out for?

Im sure on of our maxima guys will come by and post up for you..... I dont really know much about the I30s.. But the squeaks and rattles are most likely due to something loose... Does the front window have any play in it?? With the creaking, its probably some bushing in the front... On the Q it would be upper links but IM sure its a totally different design....
I would get that rust fixed ASAP before it gets worse..... Look at it this way, its not going to get better, only worse!
Could you maybe describe the noises from the HVAC fan?

Front end squeak could be your front struts. I have the same problem and know my struts are blown. Could also be the front sway bar bushings, or other bushings in the front needing replacement including strut tower. If the front seems to really jump about, I would look at the struts first.
For the window, you may be able to go into the door and grease it up a bit. If it is the glass making the noise when going up, you can try using something like rain-x on the inside and outside to help it slide past the rubber a bit easier.

Thanks for all the input,it's very helpful and nice to know this forum is here.Found out the creaking is the stab. link and both were covered under warranty.The rust may be covered too,we'll see. Also,i just noticed something strange today..i was stopped at a light and just had enough time to pop in front of a truck.I hammered the gas and it just bogged for a few seconds and then took off..That was real strange!Any thoughts?
