I'm new here...thinking about purchasing a mid 90s HB truck.

Going to test drive a '95 on Monday. I did an initial inspection, but was unable to drive it because he had the transmission in the shop. I'm going to go test drive it on Monday when the transmission gets reinstalled. What I did see was very promising. Very clean, very few dents, (purple!) no little-no rust (somehwhat rare here in Alaska!) I've heard frame rot can be an issue--definitely not a problem on this truck. Overall, a really nice looking rig. Wish I had pics.

Here are the specs:XE Kingcab4x4143,000 mi.4 cyl.5 speed manualSpray-in bedlinerCanopyFairly beefy Toyo tires (cant remember exact model)

The guy wants 4300. Seems a bit high (KBB was 3200 or so). Still, I don't really have a great sense for what these generally go for in pretty nice shape. Is 4300 too high? I may try to talk him down to $4k.

What's the general consensus on the KBB value vs. the actual going price for HBs? You'll never get a Toyota truck for the KBB around here...always more. I'm sure it all depends though.

Thanks for any advice! -Shawn

Its hard to say since the costs fluxuates from area to area. Check you local paper and see what other ones are going for.

if it is in good shape that is not a bad price, all depending on the area you are in. Like long tooth said check around local area and see what they are going for then make a offer and see what happens. I payed 2000 in birmingham al for my 91 2 wd king cab with 139k on the clock. it has 175 now and I have been offered 3k for it and said no. Mine is in dang good shape inside and out and runs like a top and I am second owner.
