Hey guys, my name is Michael, i'm 19, and a while ago i bought a 1992 300ZX Z32 (N/A T-top 2+0) and i have a few questions!
First off, i read somewhere that the stock wheels are actually directional. Is this true? Which way is forward?
Second, the guy i bought it from (and another guy) said that with age the springs sag and give me some pretty nasty negative camber. How should i deal with this? If i get new springs, i'll have to replace them eventually anyway, right? So i'm leaning toward adjustable upper control arms? Would this do the trick?
Finally, i'm 6'1" and my knees rub the steering wheel (the wheel is pretty worn out and needs replacing too), any aftermarket steering wheel recommendations?
Thanks for reading! :chuckle:

Welcome! where you located? As for direction of the stock wheels the flat side of the hole not the pointed side should be going towards the front of the car. as for camber the rear has enough adjustment for sagging springs, the front if you want to save money could get the 300 degree camber kit or make your own, but adjustable upper arms will allow you to keep it correct for any future lowering of the car as well. Lastly I dont like most aftermarket steering wheels thus i just had mine re-wrapped but the Nardi competition wheel would be my first choice if i went aftermarket.

As far as wheels go, my option would be gunmetal gray, especially on a black car.

Welcome! +1 on the gunmetal gray wheels. I would for sure go with the adjustable control arms, make sure you get a good brand as well. I'm 6'3" and I fit pretty well in the cockpit of the Z, but I also have the seat pretty dang far back and adjusted as low as it'll go. do you have the electronic controlled seats or the manual seats? Also, if you look at the pic of my Z in my sig, you'll see that my wheels are on backwards. :gapteeth: I haven't had time to have the directional tires changed around to fix it lol

I live in Indiana.

What brand would be good enough for your own use if you were to buy some?

They're electronic, but i like to sit up in the steering wheel, not very far back. So, my legs are bent a bit... Also, i think your rims are on correctly according to Z-Owned. lol

Welcome!

Look into SPL and powertrix for suspension, those 2 brands are the 2 best brands on the market for our cars.

Oh okay, i misunderstood.
Look into SPL and powertrix for suspension,
Found some Powertrix's for $336 from ConceptZPerformance.com. Am i going to have to spend another $150 on adjustable tension rods also?

Yes they usually go hand in hand and will both be needed to properly align your vehicle.

And in addition to the adjustable tension rods you'll need the front upper control arms, as well as the rear upper control arms for proper alignment. :dblthumb:

Fucas and Tension rods for the front
Toe rods and consider Rucas for the rear. NA's need toe rods in the rear. TT's dont because they have HICAS to adjust for toe.

As far as stock wheels? If they're not too beat, i vote keep them stock color!

Do the n/a and the TT have the same spring rates?

I want to paint them because i have two sets. One set is staying stock, the other is going to be painted.

OEM TT and NA have different spring rates. TT is stiffer and I believe is closer to 2.1k front stock, while NA is something lower like 1.8k (just so you can compare against Powertrix 6/8k coilovers)
