Also new to the car, ive known of them, wanted one for just about 5 years now and I finally have one, I wouldnt say its in the best shape of its life but its fixable. My name is Jeff, im 17 and I have cancer, but Im going to be ok, its a odd case though, only 400 reported in the entire US each year, usually ends with an amputation of the limb that is infected with the cancerous tumor, mine is in my left leg, which is sad because thats my clutch foot, so Im stuck with automatics until I can learn how to work the prosthetic I get in June when they do the operation...anywho, enough about me, here is the 240 vert.

Sorry to hear about that. Not really digging the custom interior mods, but other than that and some body work it will be a really nice car.

Welcome to NICO Jeff! I'm sorry to hear about your prognosis Maybe with some work you can be the owner of the first paddle-shifted 240!

Any plans for the vert?

Welcome aboard Jeff! Glad to have you join the club.

Nice looking car! Sure it needs some work, but most of them do at this point. Your car will turn out great... it's got a solid body and chassis and just needs some cosmetic work... it's a nice car!!!

Hit up the 'vert registry page and sign up your car there.

Thanks

thanks for the warm welcome guys!

plans are to get rid of that gaudy red interior, previous owner did everything, I was thinking about a paddle shifter as well, im looking into it now, I need a rollbar though. Continuing with plans are to do S14 seat swap, paddle shifter maybe? and for sure a new exhaust, which one sounds good btw?....I want a rumble but not a high pitch whine like most 4 cylinders....I use to have a modded Z31 with an exhaust and it sounded good, so it may be a bit different noise pitch. How good do automatic 240's burnout? what would need to be done to reach upwards of ~250 - 300hp with these?, common engine swaps are?....how many of you have seen a 2JZ 240? I apologize for all the questions haha.

thanks again for the warm welcome.

Jeff

if you still have an open diff you should be able to spin them, or actually I mean it, no problem. I made the car disappear a few times in a cloud of smoke.

With an lsd it gets a little harder, with snow tires it did amazing burnouts, but with the street tires back on, it kinda just screams and slowly rolls them with little smoke.

If your only aiming for 250-300 hp you could look into doing a KA-T. I hear good things about the BRM exhaust sold on this site. I know my ebay one is deep, but it drones like no other on the highway.

Good luck with whatever you do, and keep us up to date

The car is an SE model, im not entirely sure of the differences between the LE and SE, BRM eh?..I'll have to check that out, I was thinking HKS or Greddy but just because they are high name brand may not mean anything, can you show me your exhaust? how much was it? I am pretty certain the first two things to be done on this car performance wise will be intake and exhaust, where do you think that will put me for power?

Haven't taken any pictures of it yet, but i got it off of Ky.motoring on ebay for $128 shipped. 3" piping with a 4.5" muffler. Good enough to replace the stock one that fell apart a couple weeks before inspection was do.

I'll get some up tomorrow after work

Apparently you'll feel more in the top end since it's not as restricted, but it wont be much of a power gain at all.
