Hello all.
I'm getting ready to purchase a 1985 300ZX non-turbo, T-Top car that's been sitting for a couple of years. I've only looked at it a couple of times. I got it started the last time i looked at it, it needs I'm guessing a slave and master clutch cylinder since the pedal is touching the firewall. It also idles rough enough that it has to be fed fuel, so thinking of doing a basic tune-up and fluid change first. I can't tell you a lot yet since I don't have it yet but when I get it I will post more and some pics also. $750.00 not too bad i don't guess.
Introduction, I'm from Oklahoma, ancient in age..lol, owned a Titan for the last 6 years, used to work for a Nissan dealership. I'm a muscle car fanatic, rebuilding a 77 Trans Am.
Once again, hello!!!!

Picked the car up, changed out the slave cylinder didn't help the pedal to the floor situation. I'm thinking the clutch and pressure plate are either rusted together or melted together due to the clutch master cylinder moving fluid as it should. Changed fuel filter (added some berryman's),plugs, wires, cap and rotor also runs way smoother. Do have pics but on wrong device.
Looking for some body panels any ideas?

You changed the slave, not the master too? When you bled the system do you bleed all three places? the n/a's have a damper that must also be bled. Unless the car is missing all tines off the pressure plate the pedal should return.

I changed the clutch master cylinder yesterday, I did get some pedal but the slave was not moving very far when pushing the pedal. So I'm going to drop the transmission. The damper is good also.

are you sure the clevis is properly adjusted at the pedal? often it's got some preload and reduces the travel.

It's where there's no slack at pin. Dropped the transmission this morning clutch disc is ate up hardly any material on it. Pressure plate looks ok (no broke fingers just a little discoloration) but I'm going to change since it's out and of course the bearing.

Okay quick update, new clutch and pressure plate in, had to order rotors and calipers (rusted solid slides), new cv shaft boot , steering rack boot, catalytic converter. Quick questions, will 255/60/15 fit stock wheels without rubbing, where in the world to get body parts (front fender), easier to cover rusted floor pan or get new if available?

Fenders are available form MSA or any auto body panel supply house. Floor pans are not available, you'll have to patch yours, this is why it pays to buy the best chassis you can find, there never was much metal available for these cars, and the dealer has long since discontinued any sheetmetal even though the z31 was the best selling z car chassis of all time it has the least amount of support.

Update: It's running drove it down my road today a few times. Stills needs some TLC ie: outer tie rod, struts, shocks and alignment. Not to worried about cosmetic stuff right now anyhow, road worthy more important.
It'll scoot is all I can say. Loving it!!!!

Update, new tie rod and front boot. Runs great, only small issues now. Tach doesn't work and oil pressure gauge works some times. Non-digital. Any clues??

Howdy and it seems our cars have the same problems, tach never once worked since I got my car and the light to my oil gauge works whenever it wants to

I'd pull out the cluster and look at the traces for any signs of cracking, and clean the contact points, , might be a bad cluster but start with the cheap or free items
