new here. questions to get started

Morning ya'll. My brother gifted me with his his old 08 sentra se-r SPEC-V 6 speed manual. I'm familiar with the KA24DE very much so but not with this engine (I'm not even sure the engine code or chassis code). If I could be pointed in the correct direction for maintenance (how to check trans fluid and what type of fluids to use for example), it would be much appreciated. I know all of that has been covered somewhere at some point. I tried (and I've never had luck for some reason on any forum) in finding what I'm looking for using the search option.

The engine in your spec is a QR25, it replaced the KA24 in the '02 Altima and was "wooden leg standard" in the gen3/4/5 Altimas and gen1/2 Rogues. It's a sweet and almost indestructible powerplant with a bottom end so strong they routinely survive hydrolocking with a smile. Nico has a complete FSM for the '08 Sentra, you can find general and identification info in the GI (General Information) section here...
