Hey everyone, I'm new here and would just like to say hi and let you know i'll hopefully be posting here frequently as soon as I get an s13. I currently own a 1986 Nissan 300ZX which is about to be written off from an unfortunate sewer lid accident :(.

I'm currently looking around my area and have come across a 1990 Nissan 240SX hatchback. Asking $7500 CDN which includes; 5spd, Ractive muffler, cruise, 140,000 kms, new OEM clutch, summer/winter tires, alarm, sunroof, tint, midnight blue ext, blue/grey int..

Doesn't include:HUD, HICAS, Power windows, locks, ABS, or Air conditioning.

The car is in pretty good condition minus a few bruises. he hit a fence - paint damage on front bumper, some dents on pass/rear fender, 4 spots of surface rust on underside of side skirts (not major). The interior is pretty much mint. I test drove it and it seems all right, he's the second owner, a woman had it for around 9 years, he had it for 3 years.

Overall I really like it, I was wondering what you all think its worth? or how much should I talk him down? I'm going back in a couple days to look at it again with the money, anything else I should look for? I'm fairly new to the 240SX, but I have owned my z31 Nissan 300ZX for 1.5 years. Thanks guys.

Im not sure about conversions, but I paid $3000 american for my 93 with 105k miles and every option available for a coupe besides auto transmission. My friend is currently looking at a nearly identical car for $3200 american.

I did the conversion $5,447.02. (gotta love the internet.)

That is a little steep in my book for a SOHC model with some dints and surface rust. I know around here you can find them for better than that. I wouldn't go any more than $3000 US, $4130 CD.

Actually, if you are willing to pay that much, you should check around and see if you can find a DOHC version.

Just my .2 cents. There may be a difference in what there going for up your way too, to consider.

For that much you can get an s14 (95+) 240sx. An 89-90 should run no more than $2500 USD in perfect condition and SE model. 91-93 should cost no more than $4000 USD for sure. probably more like $3000 USD. Bottom line: keep looking, there are much better deals to be had! I got my '96 for $4000 USD, it would make no sense for you to pay more for a car 6 years older and with 40k more miles and a less powerful engine ;)

blue book value on a 90' fastback is $1,950,in U.S when i bought my car anyway. I only paid $1,800 with 118 k. I personally would shop around some more, think about it. 2 grand for the car, that saves you 5,500 for mods. thats alot of mods. I like mods.(who doesnt?) I know that after a while of searching, you just want to buy the first one that you find. but you'll be glad when you save that money for later.
