I had been looking for a project over the past year and finally found a very I decided to pull the trigger on. It's kinda ugly right now and needs a ton of work but I'm excited. I'm hoping to have some of the cleanup done over the next few weeks in my off time. Then I'll be ordering a front clip to do an s14 conversion and sr20det swap. Anyway here are a few pics of it last night as I was pulling it into the spare garage/shop.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm a little new to 240's but I've been a car enthusiast for most of my life lol. I've been reading alot on these cars and hope I can pull it all off. Right now it's just a huge mess as I see exactly what I'm working with. Whoever worked on this car last left the current engine with missing head bolts and a couple of missing valve cover bolts. On the upside the body itself is almost completely rust free. It's got a few spots of surface rust but nothing major. Mostly the battery mount, slight rust in the trunk where the spare goes, and some around the hood mounting brackets.

Got some more work done on it today. Instead of just adding pics to the thread I think I'll just link to the album this time. https://picasaweb.google.com/1034632181 ... directlink

Ok here are the pictures with image tags.

Here it is just rolled into the spare garage.

Engine bay is pretty dirty and the wiring is just a mess.

Going to need a new top.
Image

At least the rear end looks in good shape.
Image

Rusted out battery tray. I'm going to cut this all out and weld a new one in place.

Picture of the front end without all the damaged body panels attached.

Someone decided to replace a section of the front harness with a piece of extension cord...
Image

Computer speakers just screwed into the rear interior panels, only in Oklahoma folks. Also notice the drywall screw's holding the cloth inserts in.
Image

Pulled the rear set and look mom no rust....
Image

Nice uncracked dash.

That's it for now I've got the head off the motor now but no pics yet. I'll get some tonight after I get home from work. I'll probably be pulling the interior this week and then next week I'll finish pulling the motor and transmission. I'm waiting on a friend to loan me his cherry picker. I was amazed by who ever owned this last. They had missing bolts on the intake manifold, the fuel rail wasn't even bolted down. The lower half of the intake wasn't mounted. When I started removing the head one of the cam gear bolts wasn't even finger tight.

Looks like plenty of work to do. Never seen the computer speakers before, that's a new one.

Ive got a ton of new pics and work is progressing. I pulled the interior, the front panels and bumper, the molding around the top (found Rust there) :(, pulled all of the engine parts I could now I just need a cherry picker to pull the motor and get started on the rest of the engine teardown.

Well here are all my progress pics. It feels like I have so much work to do just to clean this thing up before I can even start buying parts.
