Wuhs good pplz .. well just thought i would .. introduce myself to you all .. names eddie .. and i just recently purchased a 240sx .. dont know much about the car .. but i like it alot already .. i was always into the 300zx and wouldnt give up till i could afford one .. since i couldnt find one i bought this 240 .. i been readin sum threads and saw the word 'rice' alot .. can sumone tell me wuh you mean by 'rice' .. and also .. i will be askin a lot of questions .. but plz dont get angry , fed up , tired of my askin questions aiight .. good lookin out pplz ..

Welcome Eddie! Rice is basically when people do stuff to their car that makes it look tacky and not go any faster or handle any better...an example would be a 3 ft. tall wing, body kit, huge rims, clear taillights and a stock engine with just an intake and exhaust. The 240 can be mightier than the 300zx if you do things right

welcome Eddie. rice is a term used by people to classify other cars that appear ugly. i will say my car is rice and i am a ricer. a ricer is a person who owns a rice car. have fun building you carand dont be afraid to ask questions. i will suggest using the search function before you ask a question however.

welcome Eddie (btw, you got the same name as my best friend in Hong Kong). this is definitely the place to get the info and help for your 240, and congrats on getting one and loving one.

RICE----- is a term you must know and never follow. giving it the meaning when someone tries too hard to make their car look good instead of running good. appearence over performance. huge wing, gay christmas lights hahaha, and a body kit...etc, all are potentials.

i also have a 240, nothing has done to it yet, though it is being fixed first off, and i will make it run well before making it look good, so that's not considered rice. stock is better than cheap and not done right modifications.

What's up. Rice means a lot of things to different people. many people have different boundaries as to what is "rice". as for me, rice is to be eaten, not to be used as an adjective. I say keep it clean, that's all.

Wow i feel really welcomed!! lol .. Thanx for the welcome and info pplz .. Well i guess im half ricer- cause im into the whole body kit rims effect on the 240 ( seen sum sexy *** sh1t for it ) but im also a racer and i love racin .. sry to say but i once was an 'h' owner before i bought my 240 .. but now i see the light ( lol ) .. a few of my bois also have 240's .. we are startin a car club of just nissans - bein that we have a total of 7 members as of now - 5 ppl with 240s 1 person w/ spec v and 1 altima .. the cat who got me into the 240 is puttin the japanese turbo he ordered in his 240 this weekend .. his car is crazy fast .. ( i love drivin it ) .. but im deff happy & in love with my 240 right now .. i will be performn engine mods as well as 'rice' mods to my 240 and will be postin pics soon enuff .. o btw i live on long island, brentwood ( for Kaioshin1982 ) .. Hey eddie,300zx i like them too... at least I did ;0 until i got to know my 240sx a bit more. Let me just give you some more details about our 240sx.

- The 240sx was sold in the USA, EUROPE, Australia,JAPAN, and maybe a few other countires going under the name 180sx, 200sx, Silvia.- In the US, the 240sx was given a smaller motor so that the 300zx could be the signature car of the US. In japan and other countires, the 240sx had a different motor. A SR20DET which you will be hearing about. It has 205 hp and is a turbo motor. ITs very nice swap that more and more people are doing to there s13 and s14's....

Anyways... i'd tell you more but i'm going to school

Yea i was lookin at the sr20det swap .. and saw the complete swap for $6,000+ .. right now i dont have enuff for it .. but eventually mabey i will .. .. thanx for the info ..

wow 6k is alot man, u can get a good engine for 2500$ then other parts ad about 1k.. = 3500$ its not too hard to put in, but if u dont wanna do it yourself i would think any preformance shop would put it in for 1k.. so thats only 4500$ installed... *correct me if im wrong on the prices...*

Ya.. $6000 is alot!... To get it going with a shop doing the work is about $4500. If you have just general car experience you could tackle this and save the $1000 labor fee shops charge.
