Hey guys!
Been trolling on your forums for the last few months convincing myself to make the move from EDM ( Previously owned aVW Jetta GLI MK2, VW Rabbit Diesel, and of course an Audi A4 B6, all with various go fast and look pretty mods), to JDM. I am very happy to announce that I am in the process of buying a 1990 Azure Blue Pearl 2+2 N/A 5-speed! :woot:

Now that I have introduced myself, I have one question. I am buying this car from a close friend so I am overlooking one major defect on an otherwise gorgeous car, the clutch pedal is stuck to floor! We have upgraded the clutch to a stage 2, and so I know that it is not the actual clutch. We have bled the lines, and re-pumped them multiple times, I am replacing the slave cylinder this coming weekend, and then the master cylinder if that does not fix the problem. However I am wondering if the clutch line could have a leak, as it appears to be leaking brake fluid? Any help is appreciated, any flaming is understood, but to be kept to a minimum as I'm new to the VG platform... :chuckle:

My second question is this: what could cause me to be to be unable to check my oil? Since he bought the car with a "rebuilt" engine, he has simply been changing the oil based on the miles he puts on it. I am slightly more anal about my maintenance and would prefer to be able to check it. The end of the dipstick looks like it has been chewed on? :wtf2: any ideas?

Cheers!

Edit: Will be posting up pics this weekend!

We can't see your car from here, so if it looks like it's leaking. It's probably leaking.

Is the chewed up dipstick the reason why you can't check your oil? I wonder if your friend accidentally bent the dipstick tube inside the block and it's being smacked by the crank.

Razi,
Thanks for the prompt reply! I guess rather than simply saying it's leaking, I was more wondering if this is a common problem on the z32? And if so, are there upgrades to the clutch lines that can be done to prevent this from happening again?
And I guess it's possible that the dipstick was bent by the PO seeing as it was chewed up when he bought it. I've never experienced this with any car though, so I was unsure if it was something wrong with internals or the oil pan.

Thanks again for your time!
Cheers!

They make stainless steal 1 piece clutch lines for sure. I know I order one for my S-chassis shipped for $45.
Mark (mod on here) is running one on his car too. After you replace the MC and SC I would look into it being the engine has "been rebuilt". Smashing lines on these things happens pretty easily.

Thanks BTL! Is there a specific brand you recommend for longevity?
I really appreciate the answers guys!

Great guy runs this site. All the parts on there I would recommend. Other places are Specialty Z, and Powertrix for suspension.

Thanks Ace! I've been trying to decide what suspension I'll be doing, and from everything I've read, the powertrix ultra lites are great! I'm trying to decide what the overall goal of the car is, and I really like Edgar's(ArcticDragon on here I think?) z32. The idea of "slammed" functionality really appeals to me.

I've got the Powertrix Ultralites. I LOVE them. Great ride quality, with amazing handling. I'm a big fan of functional slammed rides as well. Charles is an amazing guy to deal with. Long story made short, I was a part of a group buy, FedEx messed up and lost my box, and Charles gave me the UltraLites at 0% markup (manufacturer cost) and ate the cost of shipping. I'll be buying all the rest of my suspension stuff through him without a doubt.

BTW, Awesome username. Love it.

Ahh thats great to hear! I'm so excited to get her closer to the earth!
Wow, thats seriously awesome that he was so adamant that you got what you needed, and was willing to handle shipping. I'll be sending my business his way!
As well, I'm really happy that the Z guys on this site seem to be so honest and willing to help a fellow enthusiast out. On the VW forums the most I got out of anyone was either a massive flaming, complete bullspit, or the all original "Use the search function."
Sounds like I'll be sending my business his way!

And thank you! Haha took me awhile to think of something that expressed my absolute passion for these cars!
