hey everyone, i have a 1990 240sx with a sr swap.
havnt been able to drive it in awhile due to low compression. i only got to drive it about 5 months or so after i got it so i dont know much about sr's.
anyways it has low numbers in the third cylinder, its blowing out white/grey smoke pretty bad and gas in the oil. what ive been told is it's most likely a cracked ring. oh and its spraying gas out of the inlet gasket (dunno if that matters at all)
what im wondering is could it possibly be a head gasket? and if it isnt would it be worth it to get it rebuilt or is all hope lost and it's time for a new sr? it was running fine up until this happend and when it did i was only going about 30 mph.
i live in an apartment complex so i cant really try to fix anything major so it would have to go to a shop..
anyways any feed back is appreciated
heres the only pic i got

If you leaking past the rings AND have low compression on a cylinder it is definitely rings. If you were leaking fuel past the rings into the oil and compression was good it could be a leaky injector, or weak ignition coil. The chance of pushing compressed air and feel between the head and deck through a faulty gasket and avoiding water jackets is near impossible. You may want to source a new used bottom end, resurface and clean up the head, do valve seals, studs, quality gasket and swap it back in.

For s*** and giggles you could try injector o rings and a new injector in 3
