Just signed up and wanted to say Hi to all. Well im in High School and was planning on purchasing a Caprice 9c1 soon but then I relized how expensive it would become turning it from HUNK OF JUNK to nice and I figured I'd look into the Q. Im not new to the Q, my grandfather owns a 1994 and he maintains it fantastic and it only has 5x,xxx miles on it, but he's lookin to get a newer car within the year (2002 Q) so I figured I'd wait and ask him about it. Knowing him he would probly sell it to me for around $6,000 (good price?). I've read all through the infiniti portions of this forum this last week and I see the 94 year isnt to shabby. Only down side is Ill be waitin about a year so ill be on this board alot. Sorry for the long post and thanx in advance!

P.S. I love (driving my moms) BMW 325cic. :rolleyes

Welcome to NICO......

There isnt a better deal...... 6000 for a sub 60k is beyond golden, especially if its been maintained to spec...... I got mine for 5500 with twice as many miles and maintained just OK..... Hopefully he keeps it in good cosmetic shape also!

They are cheaper to maintain than BMW, MB, etc, and are cheaper to buy outright...... Plus the fact they are faster than most of them.....

They will be semi expensive to maintain to spec, and if you dont, we will disown you ;) :D....... Just kidding, but it will be a JOY when you get into upper mileage......

So far, I have spent about 400, and I need to drop about another 500 to take care of all the stuff that HAS to be done...... Thats not including all the suspension parts and other little things....... For me to get my car back to like new, im looking at probably another 1000 just to get it in spec running order.... Then there's all the cosmetic things, etc.......

I can assure you that your car will not be this bad, but have at least 2000 set aside for any catastrophic failure..... You never know.......

I am in HS also, and it can be EXTREMELY painful to try and maintain this car good, so I have to pick and choose my battles wisely...... Doing EVERYTHING that I can DIY has already saved me almost 700 at a 60/hr shop rate......

First thing you will need is a FSM (unless your car came with one, check in the trunk, underneath the mat, and it should be in the little plastic thing that goes over the spare).

Thanks for the welcome guys. Well I know it can be a bit expensive but anything so far that has gone wrong he has had fixed right away and it runs great. He's had to use a paint touch up kit from nissan on his sunroof though and the bumper has some spider cracks in the pearl paint. He has also just had the muffler fixed because a portion had a small hole in it. Only things wrong with it now is that STUPID Infiniti messed some windows up and now you push down for them to go up and vise versa. Other then that it is in fantastic shape the interior is gorgeaus besides couple carpet stains and his seats have always been covered in sheep fur covers. Thanks again

PS.. I've read about the replacing of the light bulbs and he's had to replace the 3rd brake like 2-3 times in the last year with non oem and now I know how picky this car can be.

If you want to fix the window switch, its REALLY easy (maybe 10mins per side)... If you care, Ill post how to do it.......

There is no seat heaters (florida), but when it comes to TCS I really dont know. Last I've looked I thought I saw a fuse or two that said it was for the TCS but there is no defeat button inside that I can find. Besides even though he is 81 he has a lead foot and the wheels will spin pretty good so im guessing there is no traction control.:rolleyes

It is just back of the gear shifter....... If there is a little tray for coins, then you dont have it.....
