So i acquired a really nice 1993 J30 for 250$.

runs good low miles.

I cant get power to the fuel pump, i took a test light to the plug that plugs in to the top of it on the tank.Nothing at all.
All fuses are not blown and are intact etc.

there are a few things unplugged under the hood fora thermostat change in process.

i need help. If anything could i find a wire only hot when key is turned all the way on,and run it to the fuel pump with an in line fuse? iv been so frustrated and cant find wiring schematics either.
Some body please help. :frown:

The fuel pump wiring is more of a variable speed system, you will need to look here for the Factory Service Manual.

im pulling my hair out on this. variable speed system? that being said, i assume i couldnt just hot wire the fuel pump as i stated in the original post??
i cant figure out for the life of me why im not getting power to the pump. ive tested every where leading into the plug on top of the tank, only power wire is to the unit at all is for the fuel gauge.

There is a fuse, relay, resistor and 1 more little box, the last two items are in the trunk, right side. Sorry the system is usually rock solid, never had to mess with it so no experience nor can I personally say what will happen if jumped to hot.

thanks man, i guess i can go down the line with a test light and try to track down the problem. On the fuse, is it in the engine bay fuse box or on the driver side kick panel box?

I want to say drivers side kick panel, as for testing you need a assistant to bump the engine over or cycle the key as the fuel pump has no power when the engine is not running.
