Bought my inlaws 95 240 & it's got a few problems but at 15 yrs old & with 80k miles it's in pretty good overall shape. Got a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with, so here goes....

1) Clunky shifting when cold but after driving a few miles it improves substantially. I was thinking about swapping out the 5 spd gear oil to Redline or simular?

2) It's got the factory fog lights but for the life of me I can't find the switch..& yep, I wear glasses.

3) Heater fan ONLY work on high position. Any other position & the heater blower motor does NOT come on.

4) Replaced the battery in the key fob, but the keyless entry & alarm don't function.

Any help with ALL or ANY would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Clay

1) What do you mean by clunky shifting and do you feel it through the shifter?

2) Factory location is on the stalk where you turn the lights on.

3) Check the FSM- Section HA: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/1995/

4) Not sure on this one. Maybe the factory system was disabled in order to install an aftermarket system. Just a though.

The clunky shift I'm refering to is the gear aren't meshing quite right or it's like the clutch isn't fully engaging. You can feel the gears slightly clashing. If I pause longer between shifts & let the clutch "engage furthur" then I don't experience the "clunk" I was referring to. I'll check on the fog switch location. Heater, I dunno...I look iinto the FSM for furthur info. No aftermarket anything iinstalled on this rig. Just problems with the factory alarm system.

Thanks for the iinput!

You pushing the clutch all the way to the floor? Due to sitting back to far? And you may want to bleed your clutch lines..
