hey everyone! ive been looking at this site for the longest time and never joined but i finally did tonight! I've been looking for a 240sx for the longest time. at first i wanted the 1989 to 1994 one then i was ridiculed by my brother for months because according to him i looks like a Saturn lol. so i kinda fell for the 1995's and up but i never had the chance to get one until now! My stupid POS Dodge Stratus is slowly dying with its hand full of electrical problems and its pretty much a lost cause (i will never drive a dodge again, unless its a 1969 r/t). i was on craigslist and i found a 1995 240sx auto(i know) with 190K miles on it(i know) for $800. the guy says that it runs great and there's zero rust which is awesome. the only real problem is that it has a leak in the gas tank. questions are:

Repair the tank or get a new one? if so how much?

is it hard maintaining a 240 with that amount of miles on it? will it be ok if i keep up with increased matinance?

and should i get it?

thanks in advance for advice!

Welcome to NICO. Lots of good info and people here although you do get some guys who goes on a flaming rampage sometimes, but still no where near other forums. Is the S14 you talking about located in CA? My cousin just picked up a white S14 auto as you described for $800. Anyways you can't go wrong with a S14 or S13. It all comes down to which styling you like better. I get plenty of compliments in my S13 and most of the time it's from people who don't drive 240's. Then again I used to also get compliments in my S14's also.

yea i think im gonna offer him 700 for it and see what he does. the way i see it, 700 or 800 its gonna be a steal. im just kinda worried about the gas tank. and eventually i wanna do a 5 speed swap.
