Hello all, I am new here and this is my first post. I have been searching for help and this seems to be the best site I've run across for my problem.
I have a 2006 pathfinder with 80,000mi.
had the fuel sending unit replaced at 43,000.
It will turn over strong but will not fire up. I disconected the intake and can get it to start by putting gas right to to the throttle body. I then checked to see if I could hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on. (i could not hear it Prime). So, I figure pumps bad. But, before I drop the tank I check the fuel pump fuse, and It's fine. So I drop the tank, extract the pump and decide to test it. I place it in a small bucket of fuel. run 12v directly to the pump leads, and low and behold it pumps like a champ. WTF?
So here I am. I cannot locate a fuel pump relay anywhere under the hood or in the dash. I assume its got one, so I check the web and I cannot find anything for a 2006.
Is there anyone here who knows the location of the relay? could it be the filter? if so where is the filter? Is there anything I am overlooking?
I have a friend with a code reader and it is clean.
any advise or insight will be much appreciated. This is very frustrating, I have had several problems with the car in the past. TOO many problems for a nissan! especially a 2006. I had always planned on doing the wrenching myself when the time was here. I just thought that time would be closer to 150,000 mi. not 80,000.
