First of all, hello to everyone! I am new to the Z family, having just purchased a 2007 350Z almost two weeks ago. I bought a car that had probably been misused by its previous owner as it had some minor cosmetic issues, but I figured I could work on those over time. Mechanically, it seems to do well although there is an issue with the AC that is bugging me.
Basically, the AC doesn't cool. Air comes through the vents but it will not cool. I bought a refrigeration kit but the gauge on it read about 75 psi and the can says not to add it if it's in the red. I took the car out after sunset when the air was cooler, and turned off the AC and turned the vent to let in outside air and it was still blowing warm air. You can put your hand outside of the top and the air was cool and yet the air coming through the vent is warm. Heater works super fast (although I don't need that right now for sure).
I don't know if this is related to the air, but I took the car out on Memorial Day in sunny, mid 80s temps. My feet felt like they were going to catch fire from the heat radiating from the engine compartment. The engine temp light on the dash stays at mid to low range though.
Any advice on what I should check?
