Hello everyone! We picked up our Versa hatchback in January 09. I have been reading this forum for a little while and very happy to see that one exsists for the versa! Good Job!

after reading about some NTB`s, and the no start issue, and also the various oil filter threads I have a few questions.

is the 09 exactly like the 08?why are the oil filter numbers differ from year to year with same 1.8L engine?I have read the NTB about the sealer issue and leaking water, but after a rain last night, well several nights to be exact, I can`t feel any water under the drivers side floor mat or surrounding area.Should we be concerned? is it all cars under the 44xxxx#?

I understand the oil threads are a lot of opinion, which is cool. I am into motorsports and we have conducted our own inspections and studies with various filter manufacturers in the past. In regards to that subject it all comes down to how well you maintain your vehicle and what driving conditions permit extended drain intervals blah blah blah...LOL...

I like Hastings products so I`m going to give the LF113 a shot.I also dig: Purolator, Wix and Amsoil. but don`t feel the need to use and extended drain interval high capacity filter for the minimal amount of miles this vehicle is used for...

In truth, I have to say I`m just a bit disappointed that we just owned this vehicle for such a short time and have accumulated only 22xx miles on it and already am experiencing the "no start" or "several tries" to start the car after it sits for more than 15 minutes. I would have thought this problem as explained here to be the fuel pressure regulator to have been rectified in this model year, hence the same issue from earlier models...ok, well just wanted to say hello and chat with you all, thanks in advance for any info or what to look for or expect out of this nice car! Thanks...Andy...

'09 and '08 should have very few differences if any.

Oil filters should be the same, I only see one for the 1.8L for all Versa's. Believe Nissan only uses 3-4 different oil filters for all of their lineup.

If you aren't feeling water I wouldn't worry. Really haven't heard of too many people who've had the issue.

I would take it to the dealer about the starting /fuel pump issue while under warranty.

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with your Versa.I bought mine new in April 2008, and have 21000 kms on it and have never had any problems with it - no trouble starting it ... However, quite a few people have had to have the fuel pressure regulator changed, but I guess its better to get it fixed while its still under warranty!
