New here - 2008 EX35 Journey AWD

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Thanks for letting me in.

Love my EX35. I have started doing some of the swaps. Just did a G37 IPL exhaust swap (complete system) with high flow catalytic convertors (Sorry I don't have a better before image angle). What difference that has made (sounds way better and isn't sluggish/bogging down anymore when accelerating from a stop or while driving). Also did LED lighting swap on a headlights and fog lights, Next are paddle shifters, the big brake swap (Off a G37), and a cold air intake system.

My real purpose coming on here is to see if anyone has ever added the lane departure prevention system and the adaptive cruise to an EX that doesn't have them?

Hey welcome to NICO.
You would be the first person I've heard of to do a driving assist addition. I imagine its quite involved (sensors, wiring, computers).
You can certainly start by looking through the electrical sections of our factory service manuals.

Intelligent Cruise (ICC) would be a real b!tc#, at a minimum you'd need to add the radar, change the steering wheel and cluster, add an ADAS controller or replace it with the right one, and reflash the ECM, TCM, and ABS. Plenty of rewiring too.

LDW would be less daunting but you can't do it the way the factory did on the '08 EX, with a Lane Cam. That involves the same complicated ADAS issues as adding ICC. Other/later Nissan/Infiniti models used side radars located in the rear quarters under the bumper skirt, with LED warning indicators in the inside side-mirror trim. Those can pretty much operate standalone, although you might need to add the ADAS Unit from a donor vehicle to give them a faux CANbus to talk to. Still complicated, but probably doable.
