Hello, I'm new here and just bought my 240 a couple weeks ago... It's a running and driving 1990 240sx its a great and fun project drift car. Here is where I need some help, the car leaks and burns a lot of oil and I am interested in rebuilding it. There is many rebuild kits I'm finding online but i wanted to ask you guys your opinion on the best kit to go with. I plan on boosting the car later on just want to get the motor running healthy first :) thank you guys

I know you are going to hear this alot but instead of rebuilding the sohc try to swap in a ka24de, sr20det, or a ca18det if you budget is larger enough

This. Buy a dual cam and rebuild that while you still daily your car. That way when it comes time, you can do your swap and not have as much down time.

My budget is $1000 I can keep saving up, I really wanted to keep it a single cam but if you guys think the dual cam is the way to go I may do that... I'm still up in the air thanks for the replies though much appreciated, also what are your opinions on coilovers for around $800?

Depends on the brand. some coilovers you will hear good reviews about and some are mixed. Also depends on what you plan on doing with the car... Your first post makes it sound like you want to drift the car, which if you want to do seriously you should probably save up and buy quality coils the first time around.

Thanks for the input and I know your right haha I have an AutoX car and I bit the bullet on that suspension I have a feeling it will happen again with this car... Also guys is there any recommended rebuild kit for the 24e?
