My wife took her '06 G-35 for the 15,000 mile checkup and the dealer said they had to change out the headlights. They said that it was a recall, the old ones were too bright. Is this true?

My '06 coupe is in the shop right now for an oil change. The guy told me about the headlight recall (first I'd heard of it) when I called to set it up last week. Picking it up tonight. Will let you know if I see any discernible differences.

BTW, they gave me a loaner '07 sedan. Should have never taken it. Now I'm wanting to exchange my coupe for a new one when they come out. Mine only has 8k miles. Any takers

Somebody had a problem with his G after they "fixed" it. It was all messed up. Painting was scretched or something. Does anybody remember that. Maybe it was a bad dream. Weird. I think it was the same recall.

I do remember that and it made me go and check out mine...sure enough there was scratches at the top. It looked like the fixtures didn't fit very well and they had to really push em in there because there is no gap at the top and a huge gap at the bottom. Needless to say I'm PO'ed and will get it taken care of soon since I just got back from a week in L.A. Man there are a lot of G35s there, and you Californians are crazy with your rims and 95% of you drive slow haha.

Yea that's the one. I guess I wasn't dreaming. How was L.A?

I think a good % of members here @ nico from L.A.

L.A. was great minus the rush hour, reminds me why I won't move there. Just wished I could have joined the club out there with my G, instead I was blowin by everyone in a Camry (which I plan on not driving again). Although I'll give you guys a slight break, the speed limit on your freeways is only 65, but you people have to be some of the slowest city drivers I've seen on freeways. I also find that the freeway signage out there isn't that great. Second time driving out in L.A. and I found myself passing up roads to turn onto to get onto a freeway (again). And the way road construction is done...shutting down whole portions of a freeway and detouring all traffic to side roads is CRAZY. And it took me 45 minutes to get onto a freeway one night because the detour was absolutely terrible, never figured it out except going some place which led to another and I had to stop and figure out where the hell I was and ask for directions.

Last time I was there I was 8 or 9. I was there with my father for 3 weeks. I can't remember anything.

It sucks when people around you slow. That drives me nuts. That's when I give the wheel to my wifey. Honey it's your turn.

We don't really have that problem on oor 400 series highway...most of the time if you are doing under 125-130km's you'll have someone tailgating bigtime.

my gf had this done to her 06 g35 and it now seem brighter... but we didnt really pay attention to the width, length, and foreground of the beam pattern... i heard it was a ***** to aim, thats why the recall... but on the bad side, after it was done, the headlights werent flush on the top even though they fit dot requirements for aiming... also the old headlights were returned because i requested them to be, but they drilled the lenses... the projectors werent harmed and all i needed was the projectors for a retrofit on another car
