Headlights and DRLs on:
Been a while since I posted - work has been keeping me busy as has the Supra.
Anyhow, I had to pull the headlight out to try and isolate an AFS issue (that's what that black circle is on the right - from turning the steering wheel, lol) and while I had them out I tried something different:

Lights and DRL off:

Turn Signal (looks dim I know - it's hard to catch a photo of the led with the instant on/off of LEDs so the camera was having issues):

They are quite a bit brighter in person - I tried taking a dusk/night picture but it is just globs of light.

Wasn't sure if I liked it at first but have been getting a LOT of compliments on it. A police officer stopped me (he was standing in the parking lot out of his cruiser) in the Vons parking lot last night to "compliment" me on how nice the car and lights looked! The light bars being on the inside of the housing now give it a more "refined" look. A day and $12 in parts, if I decide I don't like it then it is easy to undo.

Hi Dean,
Glad to see you're still around and, as usual, getting creative with your M. I think the headlamp DRL / turn indicator idea looks great! I'm sure that switch back looks plenty bright at night and you still have the original turn indicator for daytime so no worries.

Hey Larz,
Yep, still around. Been doing little tweaks here and there but nothing overly major. With the new house I am only 3 miles from the office so the car gets very little use now aside from going up to San Jose, down to San Diego or over to Las Vegas every now and then.Still, my favorite car, so far......

Dean - Cool looking DRLs, I like the fog halos.

I know that this is somewhat old thread but this is exactly what I want to do with my lights, maybe wont add the led strip by the fogs but led tube for sure I havent done any electrical work in a car yet... Is it difficult for beginners to install LED Tube? Also do you have custom bulbs in ur headlights if you do which ones? Car is looking really fresh

I would not recommend you do it if you are not comfortable. You have to remove the front bumper, the headlights, remove the headlight lenses, mount the LED tube to the headlight wire it up, reassemble the headlight and re-install. I am running OSRAM bulbs in the headlights, stock otherwise. Thanks for the comp!
