will the sterring wheel controlls still work with an aftermarket stero?

Depending on the brand of the radio it may but you'll have to buy an adapter to make it work ~$60 or so.

Depends upon the brand/model of your new deck.If you buy a new deck with the 1/8" steeering wheel control input on the back then you'll need a PAC interface (like SWI-JACK) for your radio. If not, but your radio can use a IR remote, then you can use the PAC SWIX. Not as good as the direct connect units but still works ok if installed correctly.
