hey everyone, great site. i was very surprised by the knowledgeable posts i've scanned through. anywho, i'm an auto tech in an independent shop, but i have a friend i'm trying to help with this qx4.

code p1145 seems common, and i searched through some threads about sensors and solenoids. my pro scan scan tool reads a description of that code as "manufacturer controlled air fuel metering" that usually means maf, or o2. but the descriptions here are all for vtc. this wouldn't be the first time the description is wrong, and i can only get generic obd2, when i program in this car it won't communicate. so is this gonna be a timing sensor issue?

it also has a 430 code cat effeciency

and abs light is on with a 25, left front speed sensor, should be straight forward.

and the 4 wd light stays on no matter where the selector is, and it feels like its in 4wd all the time.

any help is appreciated, i'm obviously not in the shop today, and my specialty is jeeps. there are definitely some knowledgeable people here, so i appreciate any help.

thanks for the help, the sensor fixed the problem. for anyone else's reference, the light would come back on almost immediately when cleared before, just like others have said about the sensor being bad.

and the 1145 code was the driver side sensor, on top of the valve cover.

Great link asnorton44, the diagrams were a big help and even though I only had the P1140 code, I replaced both sensors. It did take two weeks before the service engine soon light went out.

Thanks again!!!
