Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums and wanted to say hi. I bought an 08 coupe last week with the 3.5 and premium pkg. Love the car so far, but still getting used to the front wheel drive (had an 04 G35 previously).

Not wanting to waste any time, I added an AEM intake today. I think it's pretty new on the market, so I though I would post my experiences with the kit for information. It's expensive, that's for sure, but in comparison to an Injen it was only 100.00 more, and I liked the idea of the scoop going into an airbox instead of just dumping under the hood.

It went on really easily and the fit was just perfect. Everything bolted on and slipped in place like it was made for my car. I know it was, but how many times are things close, but not quite. Lots in my experience.

Anyway, a real nice installation and sounds good at WOT as I had hoped it would.

Next step is an exhaust, if anyone in Ontario, Canada has a Stillen or Borla installed, I'd love to hear it. Still deciding...that can take me a while somtimes.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'll try hard to make the meet if you're still having it on the 5th. In the evening right?

And yes, I do notice a difference. Definitely a bit more power, and sounds really nice throughout the range.

Here are the pics of the install.

I like the design, but I have to wonder how it ended up looking like K&N's so much

overall it looks like a nice intake, but one design flaw is that the cooler air intake portion should be directed at the filter which it's not. i also doubt if the rubber tops on the closed air box come close to created a seal from the rest of the engine compartment. anyway, thanks for the pics man.

Losenone,

Cost me $525.00 CDN. The Injen was $400.00 CDN. I looked on eBay, but after shipping, exchange, and duty I think I would have been within 50 bucks, so I just bought locally.

Spockrock,

Purchased at StreetWyse customs in Burlington

08Altima35,

The rubber actually gets tight against the hood, but there's the soundproofing stuff there which isn't a great surface to seal against. Also, although it's hard to appreciate in the photos, the entire driver's side of the box is open where it meets the strut tower, so I wouldn't say there's much pressure being generated within the box.

Cheers all
