I have a 1995 Sx which I am currently doing a swap on right now. This is my first project car and I have a good amount of work ahead of me. I talked with a guy named Kyle at Battle of the Imports this weekend who lives in Raleigh and has a beautiful Turbo'd KA. He and his wife were really cool and referred me to this site. Im hoping to meet other Silvia lovers in the Raleigh area and get good info from all you guys. I just wanted to make myself known. Hoping we can all meet up at the track sometime.

Welcome to our little slice of insanity known as NICO. Have fun but watch the first step it's a doozy. What swap are you doing? CA, RB, SR?

$5 says it's an SR20, just like everyone else. Not to bash you or the SR20 at all, it's just quite common now. :)

No surprises here. The SR20. I didnt want the RB motor or the CA. I figured even as "popular" as people say the SR swap is its is still not common here in Raleigh, NC. Its already been enough fun finding knowledgable mechanics around here to do the SR swap. I figured that engine belongs in the car as well. I wanted to keep the proper weight distribution, have plenty of ease finding upgrades, and be able to find others who know about the motor I own without much trouble. If I wanted a pure drag car I would've gone with an RB. I havent seen any reason other than originality to get a CA. But still...things are lagging behind where I live. But Im sure withing a year or so everyone will have a Silvia. By then I hope to save enough money to buy a Z06 anyway. Why a Z06? Read the "Fourgasm" issue ot Motor Trend. I already like the Vette but that article convinced me to get a one someday. Wishful thinking. But I will probably keep my Silvia forever. I just cant wait to spank some domestic *** though.

Dude no worries. Good thing about the sr being popular is it's easier to get parts and what not. I just like the CA. Seems like a real trooper. Aluminum head Iron block and parts interchangability with domestic released engines mmmm yeah. Although I'm just building my KA because it is used as a daily driver and an autocross car and I want a nice all motor set up.

hope it's turbo, just because forced induction cars make scary noises while going down the road.

Seva-S13... I just moved from Hampton Va in Jan. I havent seen any Silvia's over there. Pleny o' Hondas and acura's, but I can only recall seeing one silvia at the Pongo autocross track. Have I been out of the loop that much or are Silvia's not really THAT common? Its strange though. I went to a Nopi show...didnt see one silvia. Went to B.O.T.I and saw 6. I hope to have a quality car over a POS so even if a 240's popularity grows to that of an Acura Integra I will still be set apart from the others. But my car needs alot of work. I just happen to have plenty of money left over to get the swap done and by some goodies.
