sup my name is John. I'm definitely not new to Nissans but it's a way different game here in the states than in Japan. I have quite a bit of knowledge on s14s in particular so if you need help with random stuff, ask away. I joined NICO because... I need help sourcing parts  I'm also on ZY if any of you know what that is. (ichii_nii)

I live on Okinawa for 4 years and also Misawa when I was a kid. Grew up in a military family so I'm a little different than mostly everyone stateside. I consider 沖縄 my home but for now, I'll be residing close to DC.

If anyone is parting out an s13 anywhere near the DC area, especially in northern Virginia, please let me know! I need stock stuff for the beater I picked up. Namely, the entire mechanisms for the door locks. The car I picked up doesn't have either side so... I want to try to avoid driving it til I can at least get some locks for the car. (I have a DD so it's fine). I also desperately need seats...

Sup and welcome! Come out to the Hard Times meet in Springfield Plaza on Monday nights. Tons of cool cars. I also might be able to help you on spare parts, but I have to check with my friend on that. That seat is almost worth keeping lol

Yeah, I saw that thread. It sucks about the whole left hand right hand steering incompatibility. Ever think about going L28? There is a garage down in Dale City with one sitting in it. Also a 72' Opel engine, but I doubt you would be interested.

wait whaaaa you're a mod on here?!? I don't have any plans for this car other than fixing it then selling it again. Maybe another car down the line I'd consider doing some kinda swap but definitely not this car.

Welcome to NICO! Those seats do indeed look rough. Probably caused by one of those round people you were talking about earlier.

Yeah I hear you, but in the field I plan on going into hopefully I can afford to live comfortably.

Thanks papasmurf, I just covered them for the moment lol. The rear seats are probably in worse condition so I'll need those as well. I got $100 for anyone with a complete set! ;)

Rear seats you say eh? I'll probably have a good set from both an S13 coupe and S13 hatch in the near future.

oh yeah? How does shipping work regarding large items like that in the US? I'm afraid of paying random people who may or may not be credible. Not saying that you're not credible hahaha, it's just that I've had my fair share of scammers already.

There are plenty of good junkyards within 50 miles that will have what you need for cheap. I would start looking around!

It sure beats shipping charges.

I actually went to one yesterday with a buddy of mine in the 100+ degree weather. The biggest one around here and... they had nothing. Well, they had two stripped to the bone hatchbacks that didn't even have doors, much less seats. A lot of 300s and even an old 280z, but nothing I needed.

Well TBH, you need to visit more than one before giving up. You might even need to consider going into MD as well. There's a couple places in southern MD that hold onto Japanese parts a little better than some of the other yards. My favorite is "Brandywine 2" off of Rt. 5.

Haha good one. And nah I cant really help you out on those spare parts. Not really tryin to part out a car if hes only makin a few bucks here and there. He really needs to sell the shell, motor and trans as a whole. Try Pick-a-part in Quantico. Tons of cars but only a few 240s. There are also a few in Woodbridge and in MD that was mentioned.

oh I haven't given up lol, I need to get the doors on the thing to work and lock so I can drive it places. I went to pick-a-part yesterday, no dice there.

thanks for the tip dattebayo, I'll try to check that store out to see if they've got some doors. Naruto was something I grew up with btw ;)

oh and a buddy of mine are planning on going to the hard times meet tomorrow, if anyone on here is planning on going lmk so we have someone to talk to instead of just showing up looking like fools :inout:

Shipping large items can be done for sure, but it is sort of a pain on the shipper's part. Definitely try to hunt around the local stuff before having someone ship you the stuff.

If you don't find anything, PM me when you're ready to buy (or maybe I'll message you when I'm yanking mine out to see if you found anything). Are you a friend of "the mad scientist"? (I'm not entire sure he wants people to know his real name hahah)

yeah I'm acquainted with "HIM" lol he shot me a couple of e-mails a long time ago about how he used an air compressor control knob as a makeshift boost controller. Or a hose clamp as an FPR lol, how he thought of it beats the heck out of me. We came from the same island but no one knows if we've ever crossed paths before or not. But island=close enough.

Shipping seats might end up just being too much of a hassle. I'll stick to local as much as possible but thanks for the offer. I went out to a car meet tonight but it's not much of my thing. Only 4 240s showed up before I left and they all told me to hit up the junkyard that I already went to.

Its HIM!

I went to the Springfield one at like 830. Lots of cars but only mediocre. I only stayed like half an hour cuz my other friend didnt show. Some a$$ Beamer driver in a business suit, in a wak 325 decided to do a burnout in his space. Stupid s*** like that makes the cops bust up the joint. A few 240s yes but there are better ones that show up on good nights.

Bayo dont be a d!ck, come out or let us know of anything your way.

:woot: oh yeah? I must've missed you I was with my friend in a red 240. But if you were in a Honda you were probably on the opposite corner of where we were lol, there was an awkward divide.

and burnout in a public parking lot huh? sooooo cool
