So folks hi hello Im just a friendly automotive enthusiast from topeka kansas helping a good friend of mine out who is the proud owner of his very own 300 zx......

that had an electrical fire - he is a busy guy and isnt very internet savy to get on here and find a good enthusiast community to ask these questions...

the fire wasnt too bad... but it was a fire none the less and the car was sitting for 3 years in his driveway before my bothering him about it finnally got under his skin... it taking up room and sitting there teasing him with its beauty... but not being able to drive it..... you know the tourture....

so he wants to part with it or part it out!!!

so I am joining various 300zx communitys in order to find the best way to go about this!

participation in the forums in order to get reputation enough to actually create a for sale thread would be a given of course! but Guidance is what I am looking for so I do not waist my time or yours!

so short of it

buddy has 300zx - had an electrical fire = in an otherwise fairly mint condition z32 that is complete.... but with the minimal fire damage....

basically a fried harness under the dash and a few places under the hood = to replace that and possibly salvage the vehicle to running driving status for sale.... = or part that beast out 100 percent = body is straight and the car is all there.....

guidance? = what would you do?

this good friend isnt looking to make a fourtune ... he wants to get the good parts to the right people.... and avoid taking this thing to the scrap yard at all costs.......

Car looks like it has a lot which could be salvaged. Repairing an electrical fire victim would never be fun, but there's a lot you could sell off of that.

almost looks like someone ghetto rigged a fuse, bad juju. Repairing an electircal fire could be a b*tch b/c you have no idea how far its burnt. I say you have a solid parts car on your hands

If it was a TT and in mint condition I would vote to fix it but this car is probably not worth the money and trouble, i say part it out.

thank you guys for the input..

I figured the same thing = parting it out is more resonable and possible...

so I suppose I should start dissasembling bagging and tagging? or perhaps a guide to make it the most "do able" way to go about doing this....

I want these parts to go to the right people who need them and will use them pass em on to live on other vehicles! help out the community as much as I can.. but I know some parts are more desirable than others... andthis is just one Z....

What would be the best way to part it out as completley as possible?

Part out as much as you can from forums, Craigslist, ect, and then call your local pick n' pull or equivalent salvage yard, and sell the car to them for however much, and a lot of times, they'll come and pick it up. That way, you get parts to people who need them, and the rest gets parted out over time.

certain parts such as the NA PS pump/bracket, NA rear Diff, etc. are desirable parts for use on built TTs for hicas removal and other reasons. The hubs are usually cannibalized by 240 guys for the 5lug conversion. look around, do a bit of searching there are quite a few odds and ends that you could get rid of fairly quickly. Also start a partout thread announcing you have a full NA Z32 to part, i'm sure you'll get some hits.

you guys rock... I guess we just need to get a few more chores/projects done around the house... clear out the garage for his new kit car ahh and that will give us room to part out the Z....

any helpful links to desirable parts to better get an Idea that way I dont High ball the prices... I like to stay resonable so we can make the parts move and get them to people at a reasonable price = while not short changing ourselves in the process!
