New guy! need s14 buying advice!

Hi! so I've been checking out this forum for about a month or so, and I must say,am glad I ran into you guys. I looked at craigslist for 240sx ,and I saw a guy selling a 96 240sx with 128XXX miles on it, 5 speed .What would be a reasonable offer? he also mentioned that he has done a recent tune up,new tires, and replaced brake pads. I am sorry if I posted in the wrong section , thanks in advance! Oh and he said fenders and the hood will need a new paint job.

That with no rust is easily worth 2500-3500. He probably knows he can get some nice change for it, and wants to sell asap. If the interior is in really good condition, you'll pay 3500 easily usually. It probably has rust, unless it was garage kept. Look under the car, and check.

See what you can dig up with the Vin, and go from there. Definitly don't buy anything that has been wrecked of course... and expect to pay more then $3000....

Thanks for taking the time to reply! What would happen if I found out that it does have rust, should I move on? or just ask for a lower price? and same for the title, if its salvage I should just move on to a different one? thanks!
