I'm looking for information on R200S differentials. In particular, the 3.13 differential used in some Pathfinders -- whether LSD was an option for it, and if not, what the nearest ratio available that did have LSD. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar enough with which vehicles had the taller gears (other than I've heard V6 Pathfinders did) so not sure where to start on this forum.

Appreciate any info you can share.

Welcome!
Our forums are definitely where you want to go to look for answers to those questions, and there is a Pathfinder-specific site where you should be able to begin your hunt. I myself am not "up" on what you are asking about, so hopefully folks at that site are better able to point you in the right direction.
Look on the right side for the Pathfinder Nissan Forum, noting the other forums as well where you may be directed in your search...and speaking of search, we do have a search button which will highlight your topic in past NICO posts, and from ALL forums...hint, hint...
Good Luck!

Should be the V6. Same engine and gear ratios as the Z32 non turbo of the years they had the VG in them. the Z32 had the VLSD, but I'm not sure about the Pathy.

Are you saying the Z32 300ZX used an R200S? And had 3.13 gears and LSD?

The Z32 N/A had an R200. The TT had an R230. But I'm thinking the N/A had something crazy low like 4.10 or something like that. The TT had 3.69 I believe. But all Z32's had VLSD.

I'm not sure what the difference in the R200 and R200S is. Now that I'm looking at a spec sheet, a lot of different vehicles had the R200 but different internal ratios.

If you're looking for the nearest (almost drop in) diff available to that ratio, It's probably going to be the R230 out of the TT Z32/ Q45. Be warned though that VLSD isn't like a helical locker. Not even close. And with the age on most of them now, they really don't work half as good. You can still find some that are in good shape, like my TT, but they're getting rarer.

Is your endgame just to get LSD in your MGB? How set are you on that 3.13 ratio?

I'm guessing that S is for short. There were long and short versions of that diff way back when. Now making more sense.

Yes, R200S is just the short nose version of the R200 as was used in 240SX, Skyline, etc.

My end game is to get a way taller gear & retain LSD (my current diff is VLSD with 3.54 gear). With my current transmission & tire size, I don't get much use out of 1st gear. Something way taller like 2.95, 3.13, etc - not married to a number, but something in that range while retaining LSD is what I'm after.

RE: "looking at a spec sheet, a lot of different vehicles had the R200 but different internal ratios." Is there an online reference to that spec sheet? And does it indicate which ones had LSD?

Sorry man, didn't ever see your response. Here's a quick reference similar to what I was looking at:
http://www.eatsleepboost.lt/tech-info/n ... ff-ratios/

Just a quick reference of what ratios were found in which vehicles.
