im new to this forum and to nissans. i currently own a 98 sunfire. but ive loved nissans ever since i knew about cars and finally i have the opportunity to own one. A fellow student of mine is selling his 92 240sx coupe, for 1000, it has 147000 miles rust around the wheel wells and some here and there. im getting it here soon hopefully in december. But i was wondering if it would be a smart idea to put a turbo in it even though it has high mileage. my bro says that it will leak a lot of oil if i do since it has high mileage. I want any and all suggestions please. thanks.

there are quite a few who have turbo set ups on there high milage engines.

just do a compresion test and if the numbers are above 150 and within i belive 5 psi of each other its ok to go ahead and turbo it.

If it dosent leak now i dont think it would leak any more with a turbo set up if done properly.

Yea like he said check your compression and if its 150 or higher like he said it should be straight. But in my opinion I would rebuild it even if it had good compression then turbo it.

But if you want to save money on installing it you could always find a dvd and it will tell you step by step. That's what I would do

But good luck on your build man

And by the way man before you turbo it or do whatever you do make sure to do all the maintenance first like fixing the rust and all of that.
