Post

Hey guys.

I just picked up an '03 G35 Sedan with 80k+ miles.

I'm completely new to cars and don't know a thing about maintainability, car parts, and such. I was wondering if anyone can guide someone completely new to the car scene. For an example, I know what an exhaust, intake, and suspensions are, but I don't know what they are used for, or how to install those parts, etc. If there is a guide that someone can link me to, thanks in advance.

My dad bought the car for me yesterday and got the car checked up for everything so I assume everything is okay for now. What should I maintain and when?

And as for what I want to do with my car, for now, is just a good set of springs/coilovers and a nice set of wheels.

Welcome to NICO

Start by getting yourself a set of tools. Sockets, (3/8, 1/2") ramps, jack stands, hydraulic jack. You can save yourself a lot of money by doing basic maintenance yourself. Oil and filter changes, air and cabin filter, tire rotation, etcI still have my metal Sears tool box that I purchased in 1960

Thanks for the tips guys.

I was also wondering if debadging will require any professional work. I want to take the word, Infiniti, out of my rear (no pun intended). Is it self adhesive?

Use some dental floss to cut through the backing (with how thin they are you may be able to simply muscle them off). Then use something like Goo Gone to remove the left over stickie. Personally, I use WD-40 to remove the left over residue.

Thanks for the tip! I used a fishing line and WD-40 to take it off. Worked very well.
