new guy here. need vaccum line help. 1980 l20b

hi everyone. just got a 1980 720 and it needed a new air cleaner which i already got. now all thats left is to connect every single hose to everything and hook up the spark plug wires to the distributor(could kill previous owner for disconecting everything...). I dont have any diagrams or books or anything to help me and was wondering if maybe someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Make sure you look at the DIY section for helpful topics on all sorts of stuff related to these trucks. Here is a vacuum line thread for the 1985 truck. I'm not sure how many of the vacuum lines will be similar, but it's worth looking through. Look for a used factory service manual. It will be well worth it in the end.

I found that link but I didn't know if it would work but I figured it was worth a try and now I'm not sure why the truck won't start. When I first tried to start it, it kind of sputtered and backfired an then the engine bay smelt burn.
