Car: 1989 nissan pulsar nx

Post

Hello,i just got my first nissan its an 89 pulsar nx its kinda beat up but im hoping to give it a new start.by the way i bought this car for 30 bucks..lol

anyways my main concern so far is that its an automatic..ive looked for pulsar parts but cant find any in my area so i was wondering if there is a tranny from a more common car that i can take the tranny from and bolt it up to my pulsar?

i have a pretty wide knowledge of cars but this is just a whole new can of worms for me..

thanks

There will be a metal plaque on your firewall with some useful info about the car. It'll have the VIN number along with the chassis code, engine code, and transmission code. Trans code will be something like RL4F02A and engine code will be something like CA16DE. Once you know your trans code you can figure out what specific years of which cars used the same trans. If it does indeed have the RL4F02A, the mid-late 80s Stanza and Sentra are compatible donors.
