Hey ya'll. Just bought my first Japanese car a 1997 J30 one owner dealer serviced, bought for the wife, passed to the daughter, who refused to drive a geezermobile, 89,000 mile car. I have always owned Dodge products, but my buddy only wanted 2800 dollars to make driveway space. Let me tell you. I am thoroughly impressed . I have never seen such a well built, well thought out vehicle. The quality and finish of the entire car is fantastic. And the ride and handling is great. Obviously my buddies daughter never pushed the gas pedal very deep on the geezermobile. Pear White with tan leather everywhere. What a timeless design too. Can't fathom why they quit making the car. Anyway, I have arrived at the dark side in style I would have never thought possible in an American car. :wavey:

Welcome to NICO! I made the jump to Japanese cars a while back after owning American and German. Nothing compares to the engineering and reliability. There is a wealth of information here and a chunk of shenanigans. You will enjoy it!

Welcome aboard!

The J30 was WAY ahead of its time, and is a spectacularly-engineered car. Some even say it's likely to be a future collectible.

Make sure you pop in on the J30 forum, and post up some pics - There's lots of other J30 owners there who will be more than happy to help you with anything you need.

Enjoy, and again, welcome home. :)

Welcome aboard!

What other cars do you currently have/had recently?

I'd like to know what a 15-16 year old car is blowing away :)

Well see what I am comparing this great car too... Various 60's and early 70's model of just about each of dodge and Plymouths muscle cars... All archaic and out dated. two Dakota r/t which the j30 would run circles and corners around. 2010 challenger my daughter has commandeered, 94 mustang gt what a slug, a dodge avenger, which is really a mitsu, Durango with the hemi. Couple dodge ramchargers, a newer model avenger. I have driven various chevy and ford products and they are all junk compared to the late 90's j30 .

I would think the 2010 Challenger would be a bit nicer, but I guess not!

The Challenger is heavy, handles ok for a car that weighs over 4000 pounds. Lots of plastic in the interior. Fit and finish is good, of course the hemi has good power. All in all compared to the 16 year old one owner I scored from my buddy, the j30 basically only takes the back seat to the challenger in the hp and torque department.
