I agree. A black grill with NO nissan Emblem would be great. I would like to see a close-up of the brushed aluminum as well. The pictures is kind of far and not clear toward the deatils of the grill.mpbclutch33 wrote:Its ok.... I would like to get rid of the Nissan Emblem. and would prefer black mesh. At least we may have grill options soon.
Actually Hussain.. that is the major problem with the factory setup. They have partially completed the surround portion, and created and intricate area to fill without the chrome "mustache" you all seem to LOVE. Street Scene could have kept the chrome, but it's overwhelmingly what people seem to dislike about the grille wholeheartedly..Hussain wrote: all they did about the chrome pieces is take them off lol the rest of the "grill outline" is still there! just the bottom chrome pieces are gone lol looks like someone got a stillen front lip, ripped off the chrome and threw some mesh on the stock bumper lol i mean, it looks ok BUT they seriously need to think it through before producing it with just having the chrome pieces ripped off. they need to find something to put there. if they do that, then it will look pretty good
not really, i think most people would be happy with those pieces IF they connected in the center instead of having 2 separate pieces and then just paint it the same color as the car. if Nissan already started the "frame" of the grill, you can't just cut it off at the bottom, it will be obvious something is missing. i think a better alternative would be to replace the chrome pieces with 1 solid pieces and just paint it the same color as the car. that along with mesh in the center and i'm sure you'll have people waiting in line for that grill. but when i say 1 piece instead of the 2, i don't mean like the sedan has, i mean one solid piece that doesn't dip down or anything in the center. sort of the like Stillen front fascia on the sedan. it still has the outline of a grill like the stock one but instead of simply having no bottom portion of it, it connects like 1 piece and is painted the same color as the carJosh@Stillen wrote:

I think the grill in black / black crome might look good...but probably on the black coupe only.Josh@Stillen wrote:

Josh,
Is the Stillen grill ever going to be taken off of the back burner?
Last I heard, Stillen put the grille on the back burner. The impression they're giving me from the R&D estimate is that nothing is going to be easy to make just as someone state above. I'm sure the last thing they want to do is release something with a price tag way more than anyone was thinking to spend. I for one hope they sit down and actually do it. After all, it's not like we don't have the over whelming support on here to get rid of those mustaches. What the heck was Nissan thinking with that whole design…… Were they just trying to give G37 owners peace of mind for spending $10-15k more than an Altima.vkyolv wrote:

Let me shine a little light on this issue...
Imagine the grill has 4 surfaces just like a rectangle. Well, three of those surfaces are part of the bumper mold, seamlessly molded into the bumper...no gaps, the top and two side pieces. The only detached piece of the grill is the lower part or "moustache."
We have looked long and hard at different ways to SEAMLESSLY design a lower "moustache" replacement piece. Seamless is the key phrase here. It would need to install like an OEM panel would in order to look good. We can do that with no problems but...
Here is the other challenge; Behind that moustache there are openings that receive the mounting clips which are attached to the backside of the moustache. We need to figure out a way to make the retaining clips fit perfectly and sandwich a grill material between them. Here is the challenge...Right above those openings on the bumper there is a slight overhang which will prevent any grill material from being easily installed...
Can a grill be done for the Altima Coupe in such a way that it will appear seamless and professional? Yes. Can it be done in such a way that the panels can be painted to match the car? Yes, anything can be painted.
Basically, if we can make this grill out of urethane, it will cost upwards of $400.00 by the time it has been painted and installed. Depending on your area and average cost of painting in your area, it could cost around $600.00...In our opinion, that's a lot of money for a grill.
Kyle, great info… Thanks for posting and getting us all up to speed.kyle@stillen wrote:Hey guys,
