Hey guys, I posted a while back about how Greddy used my car as a prototype for their new exhaust line, the Evo3. So I brought my car in Monday and everything went smoothly, but unfortunately they were not able to release it to be since it came out defective (the Greddy logo on the tips were not straight). So now I've gotta wait another 3 months for a new system to be shipped from Japan. So hopefully by the end of the summer, this new exhaust will be released.

Pictures of the exhaust can be found here---> http://www.greddy.com/products/exhausts ... ima+Coupe/

The exhaust sounds GREAT! Nice and deep at low RPMs and a nice throaty tone in the upper RPMs. It doesn't have silencers but it doesn't sound ricey/raspy at all. Not to mention it looks pretty badass. I'll keep you guys posted if anything comes up, but for now enjoy the pics :mike

A crooked logo takes 3 months to fix? Wow!

Thanks for posting. Prototype folks are important to us here!

I always LOVED the Evo2 line. They made that exhaust for the B15 Spec V and it was easily the best sounding one out there for it - which means the 2.5 guys need to pick this up when it comes out for sure. They'll likely have an adapter tube that will ensure its compatability for both the 2.5 and 3.5.

More digging shows they will have this one for the 370... hmmm.................

I still like the Ti-C better. When I called them up to see if they still have any Ti-C in stock, they told me I should just wait 3 months for the RS to be released. I'm guessing they're not calling it RS anymore? They said the RS would sound exactly like the Ti-C except with no burnt tips.

3 months because they have to ship to Japan, align the machine that does the logo, and ship back a final product. They say that customs takes a while to get pass bye.

Yea I believe they are planning on using the same adapter tube from their previous exhausts for the 3.5. Unfortunately they will not be posting soundclips until the exhaust is released, but I really believe it's one of the best exhaust tones I've heard in a while

They were going to give me their RS exhaust when they saw that the logos were crooked on the EVO3, but the logos ended up being crooked on the RS exhaust too. And you're correct about the tips being the ONLY difference.

Highly likely. The TiC and the Spectrum Elite exhausts for the Altima Coupe are both discontinued.

Looks like there could be more options for the AC from Greddy now... Evo3, SP Elite, and RS. I will need to double check that but I seem to remember that being the case.

The TiC and RS utilize the same style muffler. the Evo3 is a different exhaust altogether - a style of muffler we haven't seen used on any application for the AC (that is production made, of course.)

All release dates and prices are currently To Be Determined (TBD) by Greddy at this point. We will make sure to have another posting as soon as we see an update on the site. This is good for the aftermarket base for the Altima Coupe - GReddy makes the best exhausts for this car, IMHO.

I am really looking forward to have it installed on my car. You nervous to have to wait about 4 months :( But looks like will be worth. Excellent sound for the 2.5. I wanted the NISMO exhaust, but it has been discontinued and then last week is when I saw the new EVO3, just couldn't believe.

CS20, thanks a lot to have your car prototyped and have shared with us the info.

Yeah when i got my spectrum elite a couple of months ago it was discontinued and greddy told me that they were coming out with all new lines of exhaust. All would be the same just except without blue tips. I really got lucky with mine and i like the blue tips over non blue tips.

No, the EVO3 is an entirely NEW design, never seen before on the Altima coupe. The spectrum elite is now going to be part of the RS series(same exhaust, just no more burnt tips).

Ok let me rephrase what i said i meant that the lines of spectrum elite and the Ti-c would be getting no changes just without burnt tips. They are adding the EVO3 but i think thats only for the 2.5 coupes.

I contacted GREDDY to exactly now for which coupe models they will have the exhaust, and looks like they will consider both. So, will see. Probably cs20 can confirm. I can't believe we have to wait 3 month :(. I would like to have it as soon as possible!! I agree and I think this exhaust is going to be really popular for altimas since NISMO and LSD racing have been discontinued. Really EVO3 remembers me NISMO or LSD sound, even better.

cs20,

I don't expect any gains with the EVO3 on our car since it is not a cat back, but I hope at least the car doesn't drop power. What are your feelings about the performance after riding with it ?

HEAT STAINED TIPS!

Go custom if you're looking at cost/noise ratio. You can probably get close to the same noise for a 3rd of the cost. :)

As long as you find a good custom fabricator, that is. Fitment and finish of Greddy products is second to none. I can assure you that. I have experienced it for myself.

If you want an exhaust that is "one and done", look no further than Greddy, or any other premium JDM manufacturer (Trust/Greddy, Tanabe, HKS, Apex'i, etc.)

Sorry for the late response guys, haven't really been on here lately. I'm still waiting on Greddy to give me a call to test fit once again, should be any day now since its been over 3 months. Btw, the system is catback, NOT axle back. As stated above, pictures and a sound clip are available on Greddy's website. They installed it on my car but didn't let me leave with it since the logos needed to be adjusted, so I can't give any feedback about power. I'll keep you guys posted on whatever news I get.

Question for you Xenon. Were you lowered at all while running the GReddy Spectrum Elite? I have the Spectrum Elite and I'm lowered somewhat substantially. About 2 inches total all the way around approximately. Did you have any scraping issues? That mid-pipe hangs pretty low and I scrape it sometimes. I want to go lower, but it hangs so low I'm afraid to.

If you're already scraping at your current ride height, I wouldn't recommend going any lower. The Altima isn't really designed to be slammed with an aftermarket exhaust.

The design of the Greddy doesn't utilize the factory heatshielded exhaust tunnel after halfway down, as the inlet to the muffler canister is offset toward the driver's side. Better flow at the sacrifice of ground clearance.

No, I was not lowered while running the SE. I was at factory height. I was pretty slammed with the Tanabe, but the Tanabe used OEM catback piping, so the exhaust was still tucked up inside the car.

I know there was a member here running the Greddy SE on H&R springs and didn't have scraping issues aside from going too fast over speed bumps (which you shouldn't do regardless of your setup for the overall longevity of your suspension.)

I have the Greddy Spectrum Elite and on Tein Advanced coils and i don't scrap over speed bumps or dips in the road. The only time i scrapped was on a curb and a really messed up road that i shouldn't of went down. I'm maxed out on my coils but not slammed compared to some but pretty low. Hope this helps. I'm a little bit lower now that my coils settled.ImageImage

I was wondering the same thing and contacted GReddy in November and this is what they told me.

Thank you for your interest in GReddy products.

Currently the new Altima Coupe systems have been tested and are in the production schedule.
We are still awaiting final USA arrival dates. But we hope to know better towards the beginning of the year.

I saw the exhaust sc20 has on his coupe and it honestly made his 2.5 sound waaaaaay deeper than my 3.5, which was kind of weird. That being said, I have a discontinued Greddy exhaust on the way.

That's so exciting. Someday soon I will be out of school and hopefully can afford the few bigger things I've been waiting to do to this little car :)!
