stop at the gas station to fill up before going back to San Francisco from LA. as usual slide the credit card and filled up gas, get the receipt and hit the freeway. when i get home i found out that I was charged 25$ "indoor prepaid". I filled up only 23$ it says on the receipt "see cashier for refund. I never went inside the station, there is no reason for me to go inside. i normally never take receipt before. I will be checking my receipt before driving off the station. the station is on Del mar ave near 10 freeway.

Call the state & report them. Call the credit card company & report them. Call a tv station & report them. They love rip-off stories.

This is fraud & they should be shut down. Don't stand for it.

Name the station so others here can boycott it.

I'd start by calling the credit station first to get a refund on your CC. If they refuse, tell them it was not posted on the pump that there was an extra fee for Paying at the pump, and you'll be reporting this.

Then if needed call the CC company.... followed by the state attorney general's office fraud department. And finally e-mail a local news station in the SF area.

I'll start checking mine now.

No reason to give the station a chance to make it right. Call the state attorney general's office fraud department tommorrow!!! The station may refund you to keep you quite, but if you don't report it, many more will be ripped off. That station should loose it license from the state to sell gas & possibly its sale tax license.

Also report them to the BBB tommorrow.

Please do name the station for others to see and make the complaints noted above. Only public notice will curb these practices.

We have a Valero station in the north Dallas area that stopped putting paper in the pump so when a receipt was requested, the screen instructions said to go inside for it. Naturally, the intent is to get one inside to buy something. Kind of defeats "Pay at the Pump" doesn't it.
