Hello members of the Nico Forum. Sorry this is so long
Let me start off by saying this is a great forum with alot of good info about Q's. This forum is the reason why I picked me up a G50 Q, and it has been helping me troubleshoot and fix problems.
Let me also start off by saying I love Q's, and I have been in and out of my family my whole life. My family has had every generation Q. From the G50, Y33, to now a F50)
My dad had a 1991 Pewter G50 Q back in 1994 (when I was 3). He told me he loved his first Q the most because the power it had. He also had a custom ECU in it.
Then in 1998, my mom bought her a pearl white 94 G50. She loved her car, but my dad always say it didn't have the power that the 1st Gen G50 had. However, this was the Q that made me want to get a G50. It was so smooth and comfortable.
In 2006, we picked you a 1997 Y33 Q45. It had almost 240K miles, but it ran great. I was a very nice However, it didn't have that G50 feel that our family loved. It also felt kinda I30-ish to me IMO.
Our family we away from the Infiniti seen for a while until now. In December, my dad picked up a Black 2002 Q45 w/ 200k miles. He got it for a great deal. He always wanted one, but couldn't afford the $60k price tag when it first came out. However, he was finally able to get into one. My dad fell in love with the car as soon as he sat in it, and saw all the components in it. It so smooth, and the power of it is amazing.
Now on to me. I've been looking for a G50 Q for a while, but in my area (Chicago) there are hard to come by or they are rusted out or dogged out. So I found a 1995 Q45T from the southern US. Body was very nice with no rust, but it did have some blemishes (faded bumper, scratches, etc). I ended up getting it for $1000 ($250 for shipping). The car did need some work (rear brakes were horrible, powersteering pulley tensioner needs adjustment or a new belt, interior is in poor shape), but it's nothing too horrible. I must say, he did try to take care of the car engine. He just changed the plugs with NGK iridiums, and put a CAI (clean job, but i'm not too fond of it). The engine runs very smooth with no shakes at idle. The injectors are crazy loud though lol, but I read they tend to do that as they get older. Now to be honest, when first got the car I was thinking of just reselling it because of the problems, but after changing the brakes and driving the car. I fell in love with it, I am definitely gonna keep it for a while. Well this is my story, I will post pics of me and my dad car in Owner Checking.
