If you go to infinitiusa.com you can equip your own G, coupe or sedan, AWD with sport package.

The sport package on the sedan, though, is watered down. No big brakes, etc.
Still no manual in the X though huh? I'll go look and see what I find.

KiwiCameron--It's a weird deal, isn't it?

For your own peace of mind, I suggest you ask them to be specific about what fixed your car's issue. Did they re-flash the ECM or not? They told me that was what cured it, and that all new G37's would have the new software from then on.

I hope you have no more troubles!

i see this is quite an old post but figured I'd add my experience.

I've had my G37X 2009 for about a year now and experiecned what appears to be an identical issue.
once I hit 2400 RPM the car started jerking. best way to explain it is to say it felt like someone trying to drive manual transmission who didn't know how to drive manual transmission.

anyway, got it to the dealer, they looked through it in detail and had a few ideas, none of which worked out. They couldn't figure out the issue and ended up submitting to infiniti engineering who eventually gave approval for an entire engine replacement.

i'm assuming this will fix the issue however if it was sensor related as some have mentioned, it may not. will keep you posted if there's any interest in this thread any more.

why dont they just replace the sensor and see if this fixes the problem. I had a similar problem with a chrysler 300 kept going into lymph mode. they changed the sensor which cost 78 dollars and never had a problem after.

Car: Infiniti G37x - 2009

Hello All. Please Help Me. My problem is very similar to the post by The Rever on Wed Jan 28, 2009 5:01 pm.

In year 2009, I purchased a brand new 2009 Infiniti G37x and I love driving the car. However, in year 2013, my Infiniti G37x lost power without warning on several separate occasions while I was driving on the highway. The first two times the problem occurred was in January 2013 (which the car was still under 60K miles warranty), and I reported the problem to the Infiniti dealership of Nashua, NH and I also reported the problem to Infiniti of North America.

I told them that both times, I was driving between 55/65 mph on the highway on a very cold night and my car was stalled at around the 65 mph mark and I noticed the whole car was shaking dramatically. I pressed on the gas pedal to accelerate but the car was not accelerating and my car was just rolling on momentum as I tried to move toward the right side to get to the emergency lane. By the time I reached to the emergency lane, the Infiniti G37x had lost complete power and I put the shift gear to P (to park the car). I waited a few minutes before I tried to restart the car. I was able to restart the car and the car engine acted and sounded normal. I warmed the car up for 5-10 minutes before I drove the car home safely. I put the car in for service and Infiniti tech was not able to recreate the problem and they claimed that it was the first time they heard about it.

On December 7, 2013, while I was driving on the highway on a cold rainy night, I noticed that my 2009 Infiniti G37x acted like it was losing power when I accelerated the car to 65 mph. I stepped on the gas pedal to see if the car would accelerate and the car felt very choppy and shaky as if it was choking on something. Since this problem had occurred two times before, I decided not to continue to increase acceleration to the car any further. This time, I pulled over on the emergency lane right away while the engine was still running. After I parked the car, I took out my camera phone and I recorded the problem. While the car was parked and the engine was running, I pressed on the gas pedal to rev up the engine. Based on the tachometer, the car would shake intensively when it was rev up to 2,000 rpm. The car shaking is very abnormal. There is no lighting indication of any problem on the dashboard. Then, I decided to turn off the engine and restart the car. After restarting the car, I pressed on the gas pedal to rev up the engine again and the car did not shake. The car engine acted and sounded normal. I warmed the car up for 5-10 minutes before I drove the car home safely. I have video to show that the car was acting unusual. I have this on video. Again, I put the car in for service and Infiniti tech was not able to recreate the problem. I got my car back on Dec 23, 2013.

On December 28, 2013 at 12:45AM, I was driving home from a movie and my car lost power without warning at major highway intersection. I was going around 50mph. I keep pressing on the gas pedal so i can get to the emergency lane as soon as possible, but it was not accelerating. By the time i was able to park safely, I pressed on the gas pedal to test the acceleration and this time, it was accelerating. The weather condition was clear, dry, no snow of the ground, and about 27 degree. I was able to record this event on video.

There is this is a major safety issue with this model and I reported this problem with the Infiniti dealership of Nashua NH and Infiniti of North America. They have denied there is any problem with this car model. Infiniti needs to issue a recall on this model as soon as possible. At this times, I am terrified of driving this car, but I need to use this car to get around and to go to work.

Do you think Infiniti will help me on this one or do you think I need to hire a lawyer (note that my Infiniti is no longer under warranty)? Does anyone know who I need to contact at Inifniti USA (name and number)?

If you can help, my email is timlam888 at yahoo dot com. I live in Massachusetts.
