Hi... Just picked up an 03 G35 Auto Coupe in Electric Blue last week.

1) Do you guys have a sqeak or creek when you drive over a bump? If so how is that corrected & was it covered under warranty.

2) Dash squeaks... Do they fix that under the warranty as well?

3) In the 03 I noticed when you let someone into the back seat from the driver seat by pulling the lever up that the seat does not move back... is that normal?

4) The window lock out switch does not light up is that normal?

5) If you push the climate control "Mode" button it does not show the fan speed control? Why is that? I really dont get this one, you have to push the fan speed up or down to make it work properly, and whey does the A/C always come on when you select mode & you always have to turn the A/C off... or is it ok in the winter months even when your temp may be set to 80?

6) Do the heated seats turn off & on by themselves even if the light is lit up?

1.) No it doesnt do that to my 03 G35 and I don't think its under warranty. But I might be wrong.2. Don't know.3. No, the front driver should have memory and as soon as you pull the front seat back then it should go back to where it was adjusted. 4. No as soon as you lock the door then the light on the dash should stay on.5. Don't know.6. The heated seat buttons are if you hit upward then the heat is less and if you push it downward then it produce more heat.

Hope I was helpful.

I have seen this probably about four times in my 03's driver/passenger seats since I bought it in May. All four instances occurred early on in my ownership but I have yet to see the problem resurface in a few months.

Are the side marker lights supposed to work as well?I noticed the corner lights on the bumper, but they dont light up, are they just reflectors...

Also with the climate control, why is you push the "Mode" button it it does not show the fan speed?

1) Mine did this. They replaced my Compression Rods, and it went away. It was covered under warranty. There is another recent thread on this, scroll down.

2) I don't think they fix this under warranty because it's impossible to get rid of .

3) Don't know, I drive sedan :P

4) Dunno

5) If you push the climate control "Mode" button it does not show the fan speed control? Why is that?

A: I have a sedan, so it may be different. My fan speed control is ALWAYS shown... I think your thing may be broken.

I really dont get this one, you have to push the fan speed up or down to make it work properly, and whey does the A/C always come on when you select mode & you always have to turn the A/C off... or is it ok in the winter months even when your temp may be set to 80?

A: In my car, the AC comes on automatically when you cycle thru the Modes, and you get to the Window + Leg. Same with when you hit window defogger. I think this is normal, but I could be wrong. The AC will dry the air, so the air circulating over the moist surface will absorb the water and clear your window of fog.

6) Do the heated seats turn off & on by themselves even if the light is lit up?

A: There is a safety mechanism that will disable the heater from working when the temperature gets too high. This is so it doesn't burn out, or maybe start a fire. When I bought my car in the summer time, I tried the heated seats because I never had it before. The seats never got warmer. I thought it may be broken, but now that it's colder outside I can tell they work.

Yeah try turning off your climate. Then just push the mode button, dont hit on or anything, and you will see that your fan speed is gone.

Welcome to NICO!

We're glad to help out with any questions, but make sure you search the forums for the answer!

1) Do you guys have a sqeak or creek when you drive over a bump? If so how is that corrected & was it covered under warranty.

Depends on where the squeak is coming from. It could be the compression rods. They are covered under the factory warranty (if its still good)

2) Dash squeaks... Do they fix that under the warranty as well?

yes! There is a TSB for a dash squeak fix.

3) In the 03 I noticed when you let someone into the back seat from the driver seat by pulling the lever up that the seat does not move back... is that normal?

You have to make sure the parking brake is up (set) for the seat to return to the proper position using the button.

4) The window lock out switch does not light up is that normal?

All window/lock controls are illuminated.

The mode button is basically an "on" button. Subsequent presses will change which vents are in use. You can also turn on the AC by pressing the AUTO button. Subsequent presses will cycle it from "econ" and "normal". I believe 80 is the max (could be 90...). It's not a problem for it to be set at that level any time of year.

6) Do the heated seats turn off & on by themselves even if the light is lit up?

The heated seats are NOT automatic! You can use them anytime you want. The button is for low heat and high heat. Sadly, no cooling for the seat as in the M45

...now, post up some pics in the member's ride thread!!!!

Thanks for the answers. 5 of them I am still confused about.1) The bumper lights, are they actual lights or reflectors?2) I have an Auto, the passenger seats return to position automatically when I pull up on the side handle & let the seat back down. The driver side on the other hand does not, but you are saying the parking brake will fix this?

3) The heated seats will working in the summer as well? Didnt know that I will try. Sometimes I cant feel them well.4) You stated the "Mode" is an on button. Thats fine, but if I turned the system on shouldnt it show the fan speed as being high/low, I dont get that until I thouch the fan button. Also the you said its find to leave the A/C illuminated even in winter and at the heat temps like 75+.5) The window locks & switchs all light up. I have a switch that is made for locking out the windows, that one does not light up.

1) The bumper lights, are they actual lights or reflectors?

both. They will light up with the parking lights.

2) I have an Auto, the passenger seats return to position automatically when I pull up on the side handle & let the seat back down. The driver side on the other hand does not, but you are saying the parking brake will fix this?

The parking brake needs to be engaged for the seats to return to the original position. Not sure on the auto...check your owner's manual.

3) The heated seats will working in the summer as well? Didnt know that I will try. Sometimes I cant feel them well.

Yes, they work in the summer. Temperature has nothing to do with there operation.

4) You stated the "Mode" is an on button. Thats fine, but if I turned the system on shouldnt it show the fan speed as being high/low, I dont get that until I thouch the fan button. Also the you said its find to leave the A/C illuminated even in winter and at the heat temps like 75+.

The mode button simply turns on the HVAC system. It's there so you don't get blasted with hot air when you first turn on the car. (like the AUTO position). It only tells the system where you want the air, not the fan speed.

5) The window locks & switchs all light up. I have a switch that is made for locking out the windows, that one does not light up.

Not sure, check your owners manual.

Yeah I get the mode button... I just figured when you turned that on you would get the fan speed to come on with it as well. I mean whats the sense of turning on the Mode & you have no fan speed with it at the same time??

i just recently bought mines too. same year, but mines is a 6speed, but i know the creaking you are talking abut. but its not that noticable for me. i bought mines from a certified infiniti dealer. and i extended the warranty. and i havent read the damn thing yet. and man i was so confused with the car when i first got it cuz im not used to all that gadgetry in a car at one time. i had a problem finding the trunk opener - lol the first day. just wanted to let you know that yuo arent the only one with this issue. i might have to drive it for another while to figure out what else is wrong wit it. and how do you like the car?

and just to add on yur thread, does anyone that has a 6 speed has a issue with the 5th gear? like you cant shift it too normal fast? or you feel that vibrating senstation in the gearbox? its not too big of a problem its just that im wondering if its normal

The seat should return back to the position, but you have to make sure that you don't move the seat back to the upright position, leave it leaning forward when you push the button to move it back. If not, then you should have it looked at.

As for the mode button, its exactly like the knobs on other cars...you have your "mode" selected on one knob with the fans' on/off on the other knob.

As for the heat and A/C in the winter, the A/C unit runs when you turn on the defroster, so no it doesn't matter.
