A few weeks ago, I became the proud owner of a '06 Serengeti Sand G35 Coupe. I love this car. The one question I have, is the gas consumption. Is it me, or are these cars thirsty? I got the 5 speed auto with manual shift mode since I travel DC traffic fairly often. Should I be getting better gas mileage after a few thousand miles. I was thinking maybe the 19 inch tires are causing some of the problem, but don't really know.

Pics to come soon.

I thought the same thing about my '05 sedan for the first 11,000 miles. Couldn't get more than about 300 miles from a tank. Now, however, I'm consistently getting 400+ miles from each tank. Maybe someone else can confirm this, but I beleive the mileage improves as the engine is broken in.

I have 19' also, but I don't they will cause a huge difference in the gas milage. The wheels are light-weight forced, and weight less then most 18inch rims. Currently I am getting 25mpg. I have 600 miles on the car.

I get around 19-20 in city, stop and go. Only been on one so called long distance haul and got 24, driving like a maniac to boot.

I don't think the 19s are your problem. I'm running 18s (the sport option for 03) on my coupe and I too get 300 miles to the tank if I'm lucky...but I haven't been driving like I'm driving miss daisy either. If I mainly use cruise control at about 70mph on the freeway it'll get an average of 25.7mpg. Over the last 2 tanks my average is 17.1mpg mixed with casual driving, fast driving, city and highway. I've seen it as low as 12.4 though but that was at the dealership before we bought it and I think mainly due to test drives with the pedal to the floor everywhere..lol

Mine now has 25,600 something on it...I think the engine's well broken in by now and the mileage is about the same number you're speaking of for whatever that's worth.
